The Defence, the Turnovers, and the Tucker

Division isn't necessarily over.

Steelers still have 5 divisional games left. The other two are KC and PHI.
Of the Ravens last 6 games 4 are against playoff teams. Of the Steelers last 7 games 3 are against playoff teams and the Ravens need the Steelers to lose two more than the Ravens do down the stretch (at the moment the Ravens do have 2 division losses now after all).

On a note outside of the game itself this is really bad for Lamar getting his 3rd MVP. Frustrating because that INT was complete bs (or at least it being considered an INT on Lamar is bs), but between the pedestrian game and falling to the 5 seed its going to be problematic for getting those votes. Basically have needed the 1 or 2 seed to be MVP in the past decade and meanwhile Allen has a chance to beat Mahomes which is going to get him a lot of consideration and the Lions absolutely stomped today, with Goff having insane numbers. The Ravens basically need to somehow pass the Steelers in the division, and ideally get close to the 1/2 seed for him to get that MVP.
Fuck mvps

Even with the BS penalties, we still had a shot to win and ultimately beat ourselves.... again. Sure if Tucker makes one of those field goals, we are up 19-18 and the defense likely let's them get into field goal range to win. Then we can say the defense let Lamar down again.

Today, Lamar simply didn't play like a guy on his way to his 3rd MVP. Offense was trash, playcalling once again questionable. Same mistakes every year under Harbaugh. This team has a coaching problem and we aren't winning in January with this coaching staff.

All we have to do is look at the decisions made in the offseason to know why today happened. I'm not talking our coaching staff getting purged either, one game away from a Super Bowl and letting one half of the line be rookies? That's on EDC.

Our Special Teams (returns) are abomination. Another Harbaugh's co-ordinator that's been given way too much time.

Kyle Hamilton is 5 times better playing on one leg than bums we were rotating at S. Why the fuck did it take so long to realise this?

Baring injuries, this should be the last game Stephens played at CB.

WHY WAS DERRICK HENRY NOT GIVEN THE BALL ON THE 2-PT CONVERSION????????????

I don't think that play call was aggressive, Likely just couldn't hold onto the ball. Just one of those days where everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
..but I guess that's my point. They should have known better. Things don't go our way in games like these so why aren't they playing a little more safe?

I find myself feeling more numb than angry considering the offense and coaching collectively blew this one. So many people to point fingers at. All homerism aside, its starts with Harbs.

Ask Dak about what putting up great stats against garbage teams does for your MVP resume. I dont think a big game against one of the worst teams, if not the worst, in the NFL with a backup quarterback moves the needle at all.

Games like his 5 INT game against Houston are going to shine much brighter in the minds of voters.
I mean what it did was have Dak be the consensus top pick to be MVP by the NFL until he managed to have a terrible month to close out the season while Lamar had his best month. Lets not rewrite history those games basically had him the consensus pick to win MVP if the season ended that day. The problem is he then played awful against the Bills, Lions, and Dolphins while Lamar was having an insane month so he moved from 1st to 2nd, where he finished.

Credit to Orr and the defense. Hopefully they can use this performance as a spring board to straighten things out

I knew this was coming. I know this team isn’t an actual contender. I’ve known it all along, but I lie to myself because hope is cope and I need that cope sometimes. But this year, our best case scenario is a wild card slot and an embarrassing exit similar to what we saw today. That’s all it will ever be, because this team is poorly coached, sloppy, undisciplined, beta males. Who the fuck, when losing a game against a division rival that owns you, starts fights after the snap over and over? That’s not intensity or assertive, do it between the fucking whistles, not after, you look like teenage fucking girls.

Lamar Jackson will not be winning a Super Bowl in this lifetime, because sadly he will be tied at the hip to Harbaugh forever, that said, Lamar has to be better against the Steelers, he is so bad against them and he’s out of excuses, it’s happened so consistently that it’s a clear case of them being his boogeyman, he’s scared of them, he panics against them.

The chiefs matchups are on harbaugh more than Lamar, the Steelers matchups are just as much on lamar as they are on harbaugh.

I am not sure you can watch this game and pin it on him when we had 3 turnovers and 2 missed FGs. 2 fumbles both lost and an INT that was wrestled out of the receivers hands. Once again issues with drop. Once again led the opposing team with 12 penalties most being on that shit O-line.

Running for his life back their because these guys were not getting open. Tucker makes just one of those FGs and we win this game. That Likely fumble spotted an offense an easy 3 when they had trouble moving the ball for most of the game.

We aren't going to win games pretty all the time but we have shown time and time again that we don't win the ugly ones. This game was 100% winnable if we had any semblance of discipline on offense.

He wasn't the consensus pick... Brock Purdy was miles ahead of everyone until around Christmas when Lamar started lighting it up and Purdy had the terrible game against the Ravens.

Tough game because when one side of the ball finally puts together a good overall performance, the other side of the ball shits the bed.

My biggest concern is the lack of discipline though. It’s been an issue all year and is a big reason we took an L today. We let emotions dictate our game. Good teams don’t do that.

It sucks, the amount of shit talking my brother in law is doing on the family chat. I want to tell him so badly to go ”f” himself but I am supposed to stay with him during our Christmas visit. Should I do it and just stay in a hotel?

can't really be called a rivalry when it's been this one-sided...

we've won once in the last 9 games against them

Yep... even Jim figured out how to beat Ohio State eventually. John just seemingly can never figure out how to beat Pittsburgh.
