Next Up: Bye Week

The Vikings are getting their starting Kicker back, maybe we look into John Parker Romo once he's released. If anything a new Kicker can confirm what the real issues are. If the new Kicker keeps missing Wide Left like Tucker, then we need a new holder.

If the new Kicker makes his kicks with Stout as the Holder then we know Tucker's decline hit him harder than we thought.
Tucker should be going on IR with a soft tissue injury, anything less is gross negligence by Harbs.

I would hope that we bring in Romo at least to the practice squad and elevate him if he looks more consistent than Tucker.
In his four games filling in for the Vikings, Romo went 11 for 12 on field goal attempts, making 5 of 6 from 40+ with a long of 55. His four FGs were the Vikings' entire offense against the Jaguars, he hit an overtime game-winner against the Bears, and he made three more against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Meanwhile Tucker is 19 of 27 this season and has missed two extra points.
We may have some competition however, as there is four current kickers who are below 75 percent on field goals this year. They are Dustin Hopkins (Browns), Justin Tucker (Ravens), Younghoe Koo (Falcons), and Evan McPherson (Bengals).

Which one would make you more sick: Bengals or Bills?

And yes, I already know the ABSOLUTE WORSE NIGHTMARE of a Super Bowl would be between the Bengals (you) and the 49ers (@JAAM ). We came close to that in 2021 if it wasn't for Jimmy G.
Bengals would be worse. But in terms of legacy it’s a race right now between Allen, Burrow and Lamar to get that ring to join Mahomes as this generations champions. In wouldn’t bother me as much but if the Eagles win I’ll be upset too, I think Lamar is far better than Hurts but that would be his second Super Bowl appearance at that point, their fanbase can be pretty brutal tearing down Lamar.

I think Burrow is good, nothing this year has changed my top 4 (although my dad doesn’t think Burrow is), but I think Lamar is and has always been better. We’ve never seen Burrow at any stage without top tier wideouts, and I mean top tier. He isn’t as clutch as the fanbase makes him out to be, and it’s funny when he makes a play that has their fanbase salivating like he’s the only one to do it, like that mini jump pass TD this week. Lamar has made 100x more difficult of jump passes but their fanbase (at least the casuals) thinks he’s the only one that’s doing that stuff. He’s not getting enough flack for 3 turnovers (should have been 4), but Shannon sharpe is getting crucified by their fanbase for being one of few to call him out for it. Anytime Lamar loses half the populace says see, he’s a running back! He doesn’t get the same excuses. So yea, I think that would bother me the most.

To the people who mentioned Harbaugh, if he leaves it’s honestly because his message has gotten stale and it’s time for a change. There is some truth to that concept and that would be the most likely reason for replacing him. Harbaugh has lost me this season in a lot of ways but the lack of fight is something that is bugging me. For the longest time his teams would be in it regardless. That has not be true this year. Sure you could chalk it up to losing coaches but even then I don’t know. These are a lot of the same players and that tells me it could be a message getting stale and old to the players more than anything else.

I’m by no means an expert here, just a thought

Anyone watch hard knocks tonight?

Just finished it. I mentioned it in the Harbaugh thread, but the team controls what content gets pushed out. So it was surprising to see little Ravens content in a week we took an L. Also not surprising to see a segment about Harbs slurping up Lamar again. He knows the best way to not get fired is to stay on his star QB’s good side.

I heard Joe Burrow bought a bat mobile? If true I immediately like him and don’t care about the rivalry

Yea, actually that’s the only clip I saw. Sounds like it was heavy on Steelers, bengal fans that did watch are saying you can see the difference between Taylor and the other 2 (forget Cleveland).

I’m so antsy for more football, gonna be a long wait until we play and even longer until that Stillers game. I’m gonna start disrespecting them and calling them that

Liam Coen would be phenomenal

I guess. Regardless on how people feel about John Harbaugh I don't know how it would make sense to take away a offense in which your franchise quarterback is having his best year ever in his career and potentially may win another MVP award which is also a offense that's run by Todd Monken who was hired by John Harbaugh. Fans want the ravens to hire more of offensive minded coach to be the ravens head coach which is understandable but yet right now this offense is being compared to the St Louis Rams Greatest Show on Turf. If Liam Coen can top that and lead this team to promise land then cool, If people feel like he's the next Sean Mcvey or Andy Reid then dope .

The fact that Rossi somewhat agree with my Harb tirade means it’s getting loud. Rossi always the one to laugh and calls out my random BS Harb hate…

It’s happening boys…

werent we talking about tucker not harbaugh

re: harbs, i dont think he's the problem, however i dont think he's a major positive force multiplier at this point in his career either - compare the obvious impact of a quality coordinator (of either offensive or defensive unit) or compare his impact vs a modern culture builder (like tomlin or dan campbell) - i dont think his preacher shtick is having the impact he wants and there's a real danger that it alienates some of the players in that locker room - they aren't all going to be deeply evangelical christians who want to say the lord's prayer after every win

if losing assistant coaches is the reason this team has lost the ability to fight, then those are the guys we should have kept

That worked great for the last of the Ray Lewis years, but since then I completely agree with you. The sky is clearly falling because there's some agreement here. :)

He has just become stagnant. It's funny that you mention Tomlin as a modern culture builder... I couldn't agree more with that either and it pains me to think about having a guy like Tomlin behind Lamar here and what they would (might) be able to accomplish. I think Tomlin is a superior coach. I'm just sick of the same warts - as much as anything else, with John.

I saw a post that really caught my attention which is that the Steelers can take guys who are character concerns like Diontae Johnson, Antonio Brown and George Pickens, and get a lot of production and success out of them because Tomlin is someone who can manage personalities. NGL Tomlin knows how to manage personalities, get the most production out of them and prevent them from being too big of a distraction, and when things go too far, they know when to cut ties with a player(AB&Johnson). I think Harbaugh has done a solid job in that retrospect too, but I agree that his message may be getting stale at this point, also, you don't have guys like Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Ed Reed anymore who can be leaders as well and keep people on their toes. I feel like Harbaugh message has grown stale and its been that way for a long while now.
