Next Up: vs Steelers

Beat down the Bills, will also win out but it’s cool for now. And Lamar is having a prime Rodgers year, currently 3rd best QB rating of all time
Yes and 3 months ago when they did that they got a lot of press coverage. Its the same reason nobody really cares about the Chiefs beating the Ravens week 1: 3 months is an eternity in the NFL. Tell me what the Ravens have done in the past month to warrant coverage. Just to review prior to that they were getting a ton of coverage and Lamar was considered the favorite to be a 3x MVP. Then they lost to the Steelers in an ugly game, won a close game against a fellow Wild Card team and lost a game against the Eagles at home before having a bye and beating up one of the 3 worst teams in the NFL.

Its not some magical bias, they just have not earned any extra coverage. I would say they are not even the purple wearing 5 seed most deserving of extra attention because the Vikings exist and are one Eagles loss from likely having the 1 seed.

I thought the calls at least the RTP and DPI on Stevens were awful calls tho. The drive is over without the roughing call

Ravens had 3 offensive penalties last night. One by Lamar, one by Tyler Linderbaum and one by Josh Jones.
I'm talking more about the defensive penalties. I agree that the RTP was a BS call. I seriously don't know what they want Mads to do. Shove the QB as hard as he can? Tackle with one arm?

As for the other defensive penalties, it's routine. The panicking from Stephens when he doesn't turn his head. The unnecessary holding at times, etc.

Yeah if we beat them next week and we both win out they win the division. Just need the Steelers to lose to the Bungles then we can afford to lose to the Texans and still win the division

The odd rooting guide begins. We need Broncos to beat Chargers to give Bengals a shot at playing for a spot final week v.s Pitt.

We also need the Bills to keep winning. If the Bills lose this weekend and the Chiefs win then the Chiefs won't play their starters against the Steelers next week.

Bengals somehow need the Chargers to lose to the Patriots. Having seen the Patriots that is not going to happen.

Edit: Its actually probably slightly better for the Bengals if somehow the Chiefs do not have the 1 seed wrapped up for Denver to win that game. Then Bengals would need to beat the Broncos next week and then if they win and the Chiefs win they are in (or those games would be at the same time so the Bengals would try). That seems more likely to me than the Chargers losing to the Patriots and Raiders in back to back weeks. Realistically though the 7 playoff teams are known in the AFC.

Barring any significant injuries, zero percent chance they lose at home against NE. Bills are rolling right now and they're even tougher to stop at home. Patriots defense hasn't been great and it's more prevalent when they're on the road.

If I was a high seed in the playoffs and the Bengals somehow get in, I would not want to play them or us.

Can someone fact check me, because I just read this and I think it might actually be true.

Lamar Jackson has never played a home game against the Steelers with a crowd . That’s insane

if he didn't come down on him with his full weight it wouldn't have been a RTP call.

I'm rooting for the Chargers to beat the Broncos. The Bengals will go all out to beat the Steelers either way. It's a divisional game and they will want to play spoiler.

Nick wright cares for his Mahomes and Lamar narrative

Didn't realize we were on FOX this week, which is weird for this rivalry. We got Brady calling our game, two teams who Brady has a long history with.

And if the national media were composed of one dude that might matter. The entire rest of the national media doesn't care about that game. They might care about the broader, "Lamar is bad in the playoffs, against the Chiefs, and against the Steelers" narrative but that is a broader topic than caring about a week 1 game when it comes to the current contenders. There is a difference though between "has struggled his entire career with x" and "they won a game week 4".

It’s similar to why, despite the record, the 12-2 Vikings do not really get enough respect. It’s because Sam Darnold has been a thing his entire career so it is hard to picture him in the Super Bowl and being good when he has not been those things his entire career. It’s not because of a loss 2 months ago, let alone 3 months ago.

Very weird, but this was the reality of the rule change they made the last last few years. Remember last season? When we played the Browns at home? That was a FOX game.

Yeah I know, but something like Ravens-Steelers is something I always expect to be CBS with either Nantz/Romo or Kevin Harlan, Sunday Night Football, Thursday Night Football or Monday Night Football. Just threw me off a bit considering this is the first time the Ravens-Steelers rivalry will be shown on FOX.

I want the Chargers to lose and be the 7 seed because they have a better chance of beating buffalo and kc than the broncos do imo
