Coaching Carousel 2025

So, if Monken and Harbaugh are staying, will Harbaugh coach a lame duck 2025 season? Win SB and get the extension, lose and bye-bye?
I think the likelihood of John coaching a season a lame duck, especially off another playoff appearance, is about the same as us trading away Lamar this offseason.
These coaches get contract extensions all the time and nobody ever hears about them. The only scenario where he doesn't get one is if John says he doesn't want one, i.e. he's basically decided to retire after the season.

and that most likely wouldn't happen, because it's not easy to hire a coaching staff when you have a lame duck head coach.

Just my personal opinion, but I would not go the vet S route at this point. Too many misses. Meanwhile, other teams are plucking quality guys in the mid rounds. Give me the youth that has room to grow over a guy that we get at or after the peak.

Someone like Jevon Holland (@Deebo813) would be an ideal candidate but obviously more expensive than drafting a rookie. However, I would feel more confident trusting him vs a rookie.

I’m a little surprised Aaron Glenn was so hellbent on NY over NO. I know he spent more time playing with the Jets, but they also have an impatient and meddling owner. Saints have arguably been too patient, but feels like there’s more job security there.

definitely more job security in New Orleans, but damn are they a mess.

Liam Coen may have just became a Jacksonville Legend even before getting hired. Declined the job just to get Baalke fired lol. Boss move. Apparently the Bucs assistant GM John Spytek who was supposed to be signing with the Raiders has not signed that contract and could be joining the Coen in Jacksonville as the GM.

I don't know that he'll be a good or a bad coach, and he certainly had a good year, but doing all of this for Liam Coen of all people is wild. Jags still gonna Jag.

jags fans will be forever in his debt for ousting baalke though lol

i definitely think he did a fantastic coordinating job this year though - was clearly the mcvay/shanahan disciple with the most to him in this coaching cycle

only 2 vacancies left with no obvious signs of movement...

it seems like the saints are looking at joe brady/kellen moore

and it sounds like the raiders are waiting on spagnuolo to make a decision between him and pete carroll perhaps
I really hope Spags goes to Raiders. That would really hurt that defense.
