Next Up: vs Steelers (Wild Card Round)

its correlation vs causation

of course we win when derrick henry has 25 carries... he's only getting 25 carries because we're winning and trying to close it out

the 25 carries arent causing the win
There was a game we were going to lose with a chance to get Henry to 20 I think with 1 more carry and I wish we did just to dead this stupid fucking narrative.

Was going to make another post. Allen is a great qb. I have no beef with him, but these talking points are retarded. We are his only win in the divisional round and he's played bums in the WC. I said this last year, but most of Lamar's playoff performances are based off games from 4 years ago. And I know... he didn't play well last year against the Chiefs. As a whole, last year showed progress and only expect it to be better this year.

My point was I think fans are on this kick where its like "hey we can't win unless Derrick Henry gets 25 touches" or this notion that somehow "not running the ball enough" somehow means we won't win. For some reason, fans have decided that its not really 2024 anymore, and its 2019, where we for some reason don't trust the passing game to be effective enough to win games. Despite everything in 2024 showing that's not true.

The key to winning a SB, among not turning the ball over, penalties, etc., on offense, is to attack your opponents weaknesses. If that means your opponent is going to let you throw the ball 40+ times, so be it. Then stand back there and sling the rock. With or without Flowers.

This is quite literally the only fanbase I've seen, with an actual great QB and potentially great team, who's #1 priority on offense is to have their QB throw it less. Never seen anything like it. I can guarantee you the Bills and Chiefs gameplans, which involve less weapons than the Ravens potentially have, isn't to find ways to get the ball out of their QBs hands.

This teams strength isn't running the ball. It's balance. It's attacking teams weaknesses. That's what the gameplan should be. If we lose attacking the teams weakness, then so be it. Nobody cares if you lose with Henry getting 25 carries.
I havent seen any reasonable person wanting to throw it less other than the guys in sports media. They look at the box score and say “ why henry only has 15 carries” but dont understand penalties and game situations have a lot to do with that because all they did was look at some adv metrics that reads “ ravens are 10-0 when henry has 99 touches”

I feel like lamar plays by the book at first and then whenever we start losing, thats why he becomes superman.. he needs to be superman out the gate. Dont wait till we are down before you start running and taking those yards in front of you, do that shit from the start to finish

I could be in for another disappointment, but I think this team can and will get it done. Feel mentally tougher and just better equipped. Avoid the penalties, block and we should be fine.

I already betted a few bucks on us to make it to the SB a few weeks ago so im with you on this. Im scared of weather though if have to play bills or kc.

lamar's also missed out on 2 "wins" by having the 1 seed and skipping the wildcard round altogether
the narrative, as you say, comes from crashing out as the 1 seed in the wildcard round in 2019

We might have no home field advantage. Seems like a big majority of the stadiums tickets are for sale and for stupid cheap, and nobody is buying

Why are tickets significantly less expensive than the Steeler game we just played?
Too cold, especially if your in the upper deck and get that good M&T Bank swirling wind. Still crazy to see tickets for $106

depends on wind or snow, but if it's straight cold I feel we will win that game. We match up really well vs the Bills. Even snow could benefit us, since Henry will just roll over them.

I mean you've got multiple people on this board alone using phrases like "70/30" run pass ratio and suggesting that we "can't make the same mistake as last year when we abandoned the run".

Don’t sleep on mcdermotts ability to scheme the run game away and force us to pass the ball well in bad weather

Pussies. When did Baltimore get so soft. We used to build shit in this country, make shit, now we just put our hands in the next guys pocket
When we built shit or made shit, it was for us to use or we got paid for it. I love going to games, and I fully understand why people don't.
In the three games I've been to in the last 13 months:
1. I sat in Jacksonville and watched half a section pass a joint around for 3 hours, not once ever get out of their seats for an actual play, and eat 30 different trays of nachos
2. I sat in the upper deck at AT&T, where the jumbotron is so big it literally blocks out a section of the field from your view. Basically paid hundreds of dollars to watch the game on a big screen TV... inside the stadium.
3. Sat in the upper deck at M&T a row in front of a guy who was stumbling up and down the stairs 30 minutes before kickoff, passed out and was snoring before halftime, and woke up and vomited all over himself and one person next to him before end of 3rd quarter.
Then spent the 4th quarter yelling at Goodell (who wasn't there).

The at home, TV experience of NFL games is greatly improving, and the in-game experience is greatly declining.

I seriously debated taking my 8 year old son to this game. Still might. Ultimately, against this team, at night, with fans having the entire day to get drunk and obnoxious, I think I'll pass. Nor do I want to be the guy pulling out of the parking lots around these guys at midnight after they've been on a 12+ hour bender.

I've said since NO ONE expected the team to be that good yet we've been penalized for exceeding expectations. Not for nothing we were shown that Titans team was pretty good.

Fuuuuuck, down to $92 each

I'm assuming that the conditions are going to be miserable.

But see last year in the playoffs vs kc, we really abandoned the run! I have yet to watch a game this season where i told myself even once “ give henry the ball”.. vs kc, we legit were passing on 1st downs everytime and 2nd short almost like they thought each drive was going to be the last

And I'd argue its not the reason why we lost. Turnovers, like pretty much all playoff games we've played, is the reason why we lost.

I have no issue in throwing on first down, mostly because if you're playing loaded fronts, running on 1st down and getting 2-3 yards doesn't do much for you. Again, that's why balance is critical.

Just don't recall a Bills or Chiefs postseason loss where the narrative was "we didn't run the ball enough".
