2025 Offseason Thread

okoye's the type of guy who 100% could pop
international player pathway guy who only played his first organised game of football in 2023 preseason - athletically gifted

if he's taking to coaching, he's got the tools of a draftable player

he's also got the kind of size that he looks like an NFL player where some of the other udfas look undersized by comparison
I think the latter is more what he was getting at. I don’t think he’s a serious contender to make the team but his size and natural ability is probably going to shine against the guys he’ll be playing against. There’s just not enough polish there yet, understandably so.

100%. This just isn't the time to be doing that. You dont need folk to be hitting you 58 yarders. Just know that every time you ask him to get you 48 and under it's money. You know this is unfortunately true, every kick, no matter how short, we'll be holding our breath with Loop. Amd extra points too.
I don’t like breathing anyway

until we arent
I like the optimism honestly. Another thing i dont love is that STs has been shaky for awhile now and I dont feel like Horton did a good job with Stout. I just don't know if he and Brown are superheros who can make a kicker who has real problems a kicker with seriously diminished problems. Just a thought in the back of my mind

Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.

Asking for Micah to be a Raven is insane, unrealistic, and biblically greedy.

cleveland can be coming on as much as he wants but looks like all the 1st team reps have been stanley, vorhees, linderbaum, faalele, rosengarten

i wonder if any of these guys will play in preseason more than a drive at all...

feels likely that noteboom will be the starting LT in preseason, that bullock will be the starting C and cleveland will be starting somewhere

Man he was so hyped up by everyone when he got first here.
I think it's more that Vorhees is excelling than Ben underperforming. If he can stay healthy I still think Vorhees is going to be very, very good, and Ben could be a good one as well. They aren't keeping him around because he sucks. lol

was just looking through some stuff
looks like cleveland is getting some 1s reps (and vorhees playing some with the 2s) so it's not entirely over as a competition
It’s over. As long as Harbaugh is coach, Ben Cleveland won’t be a starter, not without something happening to the starter before him.

I hope Cleveland gets a shot somewhere else and gets an opportunity to start, just to see what he really is. If he leaves after this year and gets thrust into a starting job elsewhere and plays really well, well… harbs doghouse confirmed after all these years

well we've seen tyre phillips, ben bredeson, jermaine eluemunor all have careers post ravens

they're almost the cautionary tale of what happens when you invest too many day 3 picks into OL, you give up on some guys before they have a chance to develop in favour of the younger guys who you have more contractual control over

that being said, cleveland's been fine as an occasional starter but it's not like he's been great when starting - he's always had real issues finishing blocks

but also, hard to say that harbs doesnt like him (or want him) given they re-signed him as a vet this year...

a few notes... teddye buchanan has been taking some first team reps and has been playing all the different LB roles already (clearly picking up the defence quickly) - but i also dont know if this is more of a reflection of buchanan or simpson tbh... looks like chandler martin might be the next LB up after the top 3 (although that might change with Hummel now back on the field)

udfas/guys without pedigree/on the bubble with the best chance of grabbing a roster spot seem to be:
Corey Bullock
CJ Okoye
Chandler Martin
Reuben Lowery

He definitely has issues finishing, no question.

That said, harbs doesn’t sign players but he damn sure decides if they play or not.

That’s awesome, I had no idea who teddye Buchanan was but I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see his film, he looks like a guy who could end up being a steal with some experience. Classic case of special teams as a rookie, rotational in year 2, significant snaps or full blown starter year 3 or 4. Tavius robinson seems to be going that route
