2025 Offseason Thread

Not really. They believe in both but they aren't on the fields right now. It's just rookies and other camp body/back end types.

I think we do know at this point that Keaton was never 100% last year so they're hoping his low usage and the offseason gets him back to rookie him.
per Keaton, he ran for over 22mph. I think he's absolutely 100% now.

Would have been dope if it was the ravens instead but good for Joe

even with the recent exits of joe hortiz and david blackburn, the top of our front office group is still highly saturated with long-term high-level people

EDC, Ozzie, Kokinis, Matteo and Azevedo are all still there

they're also clearly big fans of the work David McDonald and Derrick Yam are doing

They also recently promoted andrew raphael to director of college scouting and joey cleary to assistant director
both of those guys did the annual media film session post draft that used to be done by joe hortiz

not sure where joe douglas fits into that picture tbh unless you think one of those higher level execs is going somewhere some time soon (probably why david blackburn left to go to washington)

I saw an interview with Kokinis once that didn't fill me with confidence. He didn't seem like the sharpest tool in the box but maybe he knows football players.

True. I thought the same thing but I doubt the ravens didn't have some interest but of course you can't fit everybody.

he's been EDC's sidekick for a while
he was one of the original guys to be there in 1996

he had a 1 year break in 2009 when he was briefly GM of the browns (and there's an untold but apparently epic story as to why he was fired midseason as a year 1 GM) and immediately returned to the ravens

Need to know this story now

i've read so many different completely unsubstantiated rumours about it lol that i wouldnt even know which one(s) would be remotely true...

but specifically it seems the reason he was fired was not football related

So a) the Falcons are likely to be significantly more competitive than those teams and b) I don't find really anything about the Browns or Titans "interesting" this year.
Yeah, I'd agree ATL will likely outperform TEN and CLE. But I think a lot of people would be interested to watch Cam in the NFL. And the Browns should interesting if you enjoy reality TV.

New Wired episode just dropped on youtube - "Inside the 2025 draft". It's great, footage from combine interviews, etc...

I don't know for certain, but this video really made it seem like Mike Green was a "if he's there we've got to take him" pick rather than one where they did all of the due diligence they alluded to. I know they wanted him coming into day 2 but I don't think they knew that was going to be an option come the start of day 1.

This was a feeling I had. There was a position of need, great talent and someone is going to take him anyway. Can't let him make it to comp as well.

And ojabo looking like a wasted pick...

either, starks, wiggins or mike green will be a bust… why? because no way are we allowed to have that many good players
Nah, that’s why we’ve been good for so long, when we draft the best guys available and don’t do shit like pick kamalei Correa, Terrence Cody, Matt Elam, and breshad perriman, we do well.

The #1 pick of the draft for Titans. For Cleveland a terrific defense and a division full quality prime time opponents. What exactly is the appeal of Atlanta that deserves 5 prime time games? I know you love to dump on anything I say but don't make a silly argument for Atl having 5 and those teams having none.

Ojabo was a worthy swing. He looks nothing like his college tape, that Achilles sapped him of all explosion and bend. Hard to project that a young bull like that is gonna be tanked after one injury.
