2025 Offseason Thread

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree. In his time with the Ravens no one had a stronger work ethic, or desire to be the best. He was known to be a team leader and an example for the younger players to emulate.
I mean, you’re wrong. But go on lol

I miss Haloti Ngata man.
I remember around 2010 he started becoming an annual offseason favorite for the next DPOY. Sizzle got it in 2011 and a lot of folks projected him to be a contender for it every offseason, and that’s right when injuries seemed to start taking a toll.

Also, I think our scheme did him a real disservice. Had ngata been allowed to stick at 3tech and play like a 4-3 DT like he did in 2006, he would’ve made a lot more plays in the backfield, the insistence on 2 gapping hurt his production even though he was doing well at it

Aye, watching this little breakdown of Trenton.. I can see why he got benched.
Feels like Kamalei Correa 2.0. Coaches trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Simpson should probably be an edge rusher. PQ was a pass rusher but not an edge rusher because he doesn’t have the body for it, Simpson probably could make that transition

No, not wrong, think you got some bad info from someone. lol He may not have had the best dietary habits at times, but Haloti was specifically known for his strong work ethic and was always known as a leader in the locker room, and on and off the field. I think some of the perceived notions may have come from times when he played through injuries that would have sidelined others. They often held him out of, or limited him at practices to try to manage those situations.

Spot on. He was so good at eating up blocks and keeping Ray clean to make the read…and we had Siz too. It just worked the best for the D at the time. In a different situation his dominance would have been much more quantifiable and apparent.

Or you know, you’re taking what’s public. And probably taking what I’m saying too literally too. I’m not out here saying he was some lazy piece of shit, but he had some bad habits that they felt held him back from being one of the greats. Nothing more than that.

…. or maybe, you know, you’re listening to people that weren’t around the team when he played. No matter, all good.

Many think Haloti was “one of the greats”, mostly folks that watched him play every week. And while he wasn’t a first ballot HOF inductee he did make it through a couple of rounds of cuts. You never know, he still may get a jacket one day.

I’ll leave these here for your viewing pleasure!

I agree and that is how he was used in college and he was good at it.

My guy's connection has been with the team since 2002

Cool. Just sounds like something got lost in translation.

lol why are you so adamant that he's wrong? what's your source that says otherwise?

no one's disputing how amazing haloti was on the field lol... just that he didn't always practise or train like the elite player he was

Hmmmm I could see what was said about Haloti Ngata being true. Look at Terrell Suggs whom is a no doubt about it hall of famer along with being a leader on the team but he definitely had moments when he came into camp over weight or overall not in as much great shape the coaching staff would have liked. I don't think Suggs was lazy but its possible he took his youth for granted as he didn't really start to get in the best shape of his life until he started playing in his thirties.
