Cool snap count graphic even though a couple of players are mispositioned

I think it’s a very important distinction. They aren’t playing the same roles at all.

Last game was certainly a struggle but I’m not mad at the play from Tampa last night at all. He was in position. Sometimes the other team just makes a play.
Idk i just see it pretty simply.

Tampa has been the lower performer at the deeper position.

Martin has flashed at to he perfectly honest, a totally baron position.

Barren on paper. Humphrey, Hamilton, Armour-Davis, and potentially Lowery would be ahead of him on game days if I had to guess. He’s probably 3 or 4 injuries away while Tampa is 2 or 3 (and a lot more risk with guys like Alexander, Awuzie, and Armour-Davis ahead of him who have all had plenty of injury issues).

Not to keep the Green hype going too much but I do appreciate how, unlike with a lot of young pass rushers, neither he nor the defensive coaching staff has him spam the same moves over and over again.

With that image of his ankle bending like it was made of jello last week it would be really tempting to just have him rush with speed around the tackle over and over again but they seem to be challenging him with different stunts and twists. At least 3 times last night I saw him shoot inside off the snap with crazy quickness.

Alright so that leaves it with the following that seem like locks or close to it now…

QB (2): Jackson, Rush
RB (4): Henry, Hill, Mitchell, Ali
FB (1): Ricard
WR (6): Flowers, Bateman, Hopkins, Walker, Wallace, Wester
TE (2): Andrews, Kolar
OL (9): Stanley, Vorhees, Linderbaum, Faalele, Rosengarten, Noteboom, Cleveland, Bullock, Vinson
DL (5): Madubuike, Jones, Washington, Jenkins, Peebles
ILB (4): Smith, Simpson, Buchanan, Hummel
OLB (5): Van Noy, Oweh, Robinson, Green, Ojabo
CB (6): Humphrey, Wiggins, Alexander, Awuzie, Tampa, Armour-Davis
S (4): Hamilton, Starks, Kane, Lowery
ST (3): Loop, Stout, Moore

That’s 51. Leaves 2 spots open for guys like Likely (if they don’t want to go the IR route), Kirkwood, Dellinger, Samac, Urban, Ravenell, Higgins, Brade.
Am I remembering correctly that last years rule change allowed a set number of IRs prior to the season that can come back during the season?

also we're talking about a CB6 here lol
and a guy who (from the look of his role in preseason) will be a special teams staple this year

tbf last week he was varying his rush a ton too
and this week we did see him bend the edge a few times as well

Yep correct. I had forgotten about that, but 2 guys can now go on cut day and be eligible.

im assuming that doesnt include NFI

so you would have:
Emery Jones NFI
Ar'Darius Washington I/R
Adisa Isaac I/R

which also means that if you want to I/R Likely, you've got to cut someone else and idk who that someone else is (because i've already got Urban missing out)

Ar’Darius will go to PUP. He’s been on that list (albeit active) since camp opened.

I don’t know what’s gotten into Harbaugh but he’s throwing confirmations out tonight, either directly or indirectly.

Ali is making it. Loop is the kicker. Effusive praise of Bullock and Lowery.
I don't really see the point of rostering Ali on the 53. He didn't look so much better than Johnson and Gaskin off the street that losing him would be a big problem.

I realise competition at the bottom of the roster is a lot less fierce on the offensive side but I'd prefer a 10th O Lineman. With Vinson basically redshirting we'll only have Noteboom, Cleveland and Bullock protected for depth.

Ali is making it for ST and RB depth. Johnson and Gaskin are camp bodies here to eat reps.

On the OL, I don’t think they believe there’s a massive difference in skill level of the next 3-4 guys in line to use a roster spot on one when 2-3 are probably going to be back on the PS.
