NBA Thread

The NBA is such a joke and shit league. The only sport where you can make super teams so easily and one player can take you to the finals alone. 4 years of the same garbage final doesn't help. MLB,NFL and NHL are much better leagues. I don't honestly know what the league can even do to make it decent to watch again. Probably bring back tougher rules and make the game a bit dirtier like in the 90s maybe. Would never happen though.
NBA has basically turned into La Liga.

Hardens game is predicated on getting to the line. He doesn't.. They don't win usually when it matters. He also gives no effort on d.
Or...you can form your own opinion and not just automatically conform to everyone else.

Hardens game predicated on FTs? Lmao. Just because he attempts a lot of FTs doesn’t mean his game is predicated on it. He had like 5 free throws in game 7 and still had 32 points. But man he sucks when he can’t get to the line! Yeah right. His game is predicated on iso’s. And he’s the best at it. Next.

They don’t win usually when it matters? So making it to the WCF and getting up 3-2 doesn’t matter? This finals would 100% be Rockets vs Cavs if CP3 didn’t get hurt. Chris Paul made the warriors his bitch. And maybe if you would’ve watched the WCF you would’ve noticed Harden and the rockets as a whole putting a lot of effort in on defense. Which is why they were up 3-2. Only reason they lost is because the guy who was their playoff mvp got hurt.

They brought Ray in 2012 after the Mavs dusted them.

@DeVito52 he's a flopper. He can ball but don't respect that aspect of his game. Half of his stepbacks look like travels that aren't called. And I don't take my views from TV, which is why I don't think GS is some Monstars of a team. Klay and Draymond, to me, are overrated in a narrative to make GS look like some bullies in the league. They're very good in their role, but I don't think They would have the same success on different teams.

And how are you going to mention Paul being out then leave out Iggy who's a key part of the team as well on both sides of the ball?

It's almost always been like this in the NBA. This is nothing new. Celtics did it, then Celtics/Lakers again in the 80s early 90s. Bulls for the rest of the 90s. Lakers/Spurs in 00s. Heat for early 10s and now GS. Then sprinkle in a few good teams in between, but rinse and repeat. You have good teams that peak at the right team like Pistons 80s and 00s. Houston when Jordan retired Boston big 3, but it's the same story in the NBA.

Congrats to Kevin Durant for ruining the sport of basketball for literally everyone yet again!

What a little bitch.

I was entertained. They play a beautiful brand of ball.
They're the only team in the league worth a damn and the ratings are going to tank. This isn't entertaining to watch and I HATE Lebron James. I'd normally enjoy watching his team get sodomized but I can't. Lebron is an ass but Kevin Durant is a little bitch.

Enjoy that as your legacy KD. That's what you'll be remembered for!

Wrong. The Rockets were the better team this season.

This is way different and we both know it. Three all stars going against a team with only one or two has been a thing forever..

One player fucking the parity of an entire league in the ass because he's a sore loser, despite having a good team around him already, and going to a team that could have already been considered to be an all time great team... Totally different. Lebron doing what he did changed the NBA. But the east was already a massive shitshow to begin with at the time. Kevin Durant essentially secured five NBA titles for himself with no avail. The Cavs are not even a moderate challenge for this warriors squad. They weren't with Kyrie on the team either. You've missed the point entirely. That Big 3 Heat team was good but was clearly beatable.. The only way this warriors team could possibly lose a seven game series to anyone in the league right now is if one of their guys get hurt.. And even then there's no fucking chance.

I hate Lebron James.. But the situation is totally different. Lebron formed a team down in Miami because Cleveland did(and has done again) a TERRIBLE job building around him. KD was a little bitch.

Fuck Durant, Fuck Lebron, Fuck Harden. No denying the greatness of Lebron though. KD basically screwed over the NBA to get at least another 3 rings... And Harden. Well the fact that he's the best SG in the NBA right now proves that this league is an utter joke.

Yeah if Peyton Manning went and joined the Patriots before 2006, then I'd call that about equivalent to what K.D. did. I mean even if him and Russ didn't gel, he had 28 other teams to go to but he just happened to want to go to the one he lost a 3-1 lead to.

I won't defend LeBron doing what he did or how he handled it but at least he didn't go join the Celtics. And LeBron made things right by coming back to Cleveland and getting them a championship. People that try to compare what either player did and say they are equivalent are just missing the point of K.D. straight up joining his rival.

What angers me though is the parity that it just destroys. I mean the NBA has never had much but even MJ's teams had to go against the Jazz and we got some great moments from that. If KD had stayed in OKC we would have had some awesome battles between them and Golden State. The Cavs would have posed more of a threat, same with the Rockets, things would be a lot more open ended. Now we are stuck with hoping Boston can take the next step, Houston keeps the team together, or Lebron forming some other super team and that is just so we can get a series that lasts more than 5 games. Just makes the NBA more predictable than it already is at the top.

Bump

Also would be shocked if this goes past 5. Cavs got taken to 7 by Indiana and choke-job by Toronto aside, not really impressed by their run with the Celtics also taking them to 7(of course give LeBron all the respect for getting this team to the finals). This is the same Celtics team that needed 7 to get by Milwaukee and sure they beat Philly but Philly is young and inexperienced and needed to learn to not take a conference finals chance for granted. Golden State with Curry back fully healthy is going to roll.

Next year could be fun though, I think the Celtics and the Rockets if CP3 stays could give us some entertaining series with the Warriors at least and who knows what free agency has in store.
Still holding onto the last paragraph. We knew the Cavs would get destroyed but the Rockets still got the Warriors to go all out and there are some good players that are going to be moving places. Who knows, maybe LeBron joins Boston or Houston for cheap as a middle finger to the Warriors lol

Reportedly there are 4 teams on Lebron's wish list for Free Agency, and those are re-signing with the Cavs, Rockets, 76ers and Lakers. I would say forming a super team in Houston would be very compelling to Lebron as it would be similar to when he signed with Miami. Though I do think he stays in the East as that is the easiest route to the NBA Finals every year. I imagine he'll choose the 76ers and in the next three years Lebron will get Philly another major sports title.
