The Offensive Line Thread

I would take Miller in the third round, but if we are going offensive lineman early, I’d rather draft Wynn to be our RT over Miller. At least I know he can play guard or maybe even center if he struggled.

Yeah ive got:
McGlinchey , Williams, Brown, Crosby, and Jones (barely) all above him. Might even take Okorafor over him, but Eluemunor is enough of a project for us right now I guess.

I'm very preferential towards big maulers, even if they are a little less technically sound, because most of the time they can be coached up, and we do well with that. I guess I wouldn't mind taking Miller if he can add a good amount of weight..it would definitely do him some favors. He just gets pushed around too easily.
For interior guys I love maulers. On the edge though, I'll take a technician. Gotta be able to handle those quick edge rushers, and without grabbing there jerseys.

He can be hes just not comsistent with it, but when he uses his big ass hands properly with good pad level and technique hes strong as hell. Hes just not comsistent with it thanks to the poor coaching he recieved
Since we coach up linemen well he'd be a good second round pick for us.

I don't believe a word he said. Yes, he's the RT. In the draft we will probably end up with a RT that is more talented than Hurst. I'm ok with Hurst as a backup, but definitely not a starter. If anything, he should be a backup guard.

So...

I hope the line goes like this.
Stanley-Hurst-Lewis-Yanda-Brown Jr.

I expect it to go like this

Stanley-Lewis-Skura-Yanda-Hurst

Which would infuriate me because Hurst is a turnstile at RT and Skura is a walking, talking liability posing as a football player. The first line has 3 good starters and two guys who could just fuck it all up. I'm sorry, if you actually watch the film, the line truly was good in spite of Hurst and Skura last season. Hurst has become one of the most infuriatingly overrated players of the team amongst the fanbase. He wasn't a good puller, he was a terrible run blocker. At least he was solid in pass pro.

The first line has Hurst playing at his best position, while having Lewis play out of position but still being solid. Stanley and Yanda are both great. Brown Jr. is a rookie who is going to make his fair share of mistakes but should still be a good player from day one from everything that I've seen on film. That's 4 starters I think could be good, and one guy who's passable. The first line could be a good unit. The second one is terrible.

Please make the right choice here Harbaugh. Or pick up a C or LG so Hurst doesn't have to start.

Stanley-Hurst-Lewis-Yanda-Zeus Jr. Is the only line I feel comfortable with protecting Joe. Skura at Center and Hurst at RT is a recipe for disaster.

At this point, I see zero reasons that Orlando Brown doesn't start.

I know Lewis played center during training camp, but I thought the experiment came to an end? I haven't been able to watch as much preseason as I wanted, but what makes you hope Lewis will play C for us? Was he out there running with the 1s? I thought Skura got most of that work? I think it's more likely Brown is at RT than Lewis at C at this point.

Yeah the O line is the biggest uncertainty at this point and Skura’s play a concern. I hope they have a solid plan.
