Lamar Jackson

He’s just always ending lines with “and stuff like that” and he constantly just rambles into a different subject, I like Lamar’s personality he seems like funny guy and a bit of a goofball, but I think he gets a little funny in front of the microphone as opposed to a regular conversation it seems

i like that aspect tbh - its such an artificial place that it takes someone being a bit different to break the weird coach-speak that comes out consistently
Plus it reminds me that he's still a kid - he's 21 years old

Some of the posts on that other board give me life

Yeah go scout the top QB prospects every year

What cracks me up is fat couch QB’s bashing Lamar’s throwing day on Twitter when 13/19 for 150 yards and a pick is just another day at the office for Flacco, especially against the Bengals.

Well, to be fair Lamar did better I guess but he didn’t do much in the air and I think that’s what people want to see. Marty seems to be a big part of that so I’m hoping they open it up more next game against OAK because we will need to air it out after that to keep up with the other teams. I don’t want to rely on running him so much. Joe didn’t do better though; he got 2 INT, 0 TD earlier in the year but more passes and completions but completed 58.2 of his passes

13 of 19 with major rushing yards is a goddamn home run for Lamar’s first start, the only thing you can really ask for is that he doesn’t throw that pick.

Eliminate maybe 7-8 of those rush attempts, turn 13-19 into like 20-28, and you have an ideal blend of run and pass for a rookie lamar.

apparently it's likely joe isnt the starter next week too so my hope is that stanley gets a week to recover to hopefully help out our pass blocking and the playbook gets opened up more so lamar gets to test out a defence with his arm
Joe should take more time to properly recover for the next training camp, where ever it might be.

I don't know if you saw that post game interview he had with Prime (NFL network). Prime asked him point blank what he was going to do when they defenses start stacking up front, Lamar without batting an eyelid said, 'then I'll beat them with the pass'! He's very confident about his abilities. It almost seems like fans are treating Lamar like he has never thrown a football. Gosh the guy had 3500 yds in 2017 and also rushed for 1500!

Yeah I’m not taking much from the game other than I liked what I saw and I’d like to see more. I’m optimistic that Lamar will get better and I think anyone anointing him and anyone overly criticizing him are a bit exaggerating. Confident? I definitely think he’s confident and I feel like he’s improved throughout the year. I think Joe will be the QB when he’s healthy if he returns this year but it’ll be Lamar next year. That’s just my guess

I think your guess is as good as anybody right now. Here's the problem for Harbaugh. If Lamar wins the next 2 games at home then it becomes difficult to play Flacco even though he may give us a better chance. Will Harbaugh take that chance and bear the brunt if Flacco loses that game and gets us out of the hunt? Tricky situation at the very least. The greatest attribute I've heard about Lamar right through the draft process is he is continually improving day to day and year to year. I agree that he'll continue to improve but what I saw today was the game isn't too big for him and he's able to overcome costly mistakes by taking responsibility and then forgetting about it. But, we'll wait and see how this year unfolds.

Basically exactly what i expected. Some mistakes, some flashes of his potential.

and for the love of god slide.

Just saw that Jackson boosted ticket sales by like 50%. Yeah I don’t think Flacco is seeing the field for the remainder of 2018.

I’d agree I don’t think anyone knows what’ll happen at QB. It’s all guesswork. It’s a tough spot for Harbaugh to be sure but I just think it’ll be tough to also move away from Joe even if Lamar lights up these two teams because they are relatively bad defenses but to be fair CIN always gives us fits except for some outliers so hey who knows. I just liked what I saw and I’d like to see more of it but I want to see him throw more. I think he can do it but I want to see it happen you know? I love the guy’s moxie—he doesn’t seem to fold when pressured.

So I can recall ONE bootleg. It was out of a heavy set, we hit a WIDE open nick Boyle and he tumbled for a 12 yard gain or so.

The question is... with the run game working so well, lamar being a very good thrower on the run, and our TEs being the strength of this offense... why the hell did we only call one? If you want lamar to throw more, run more boots, use hurst out of the H back or inline, let him chip and break away for the out and get downfield with the ball, let Andrews be the 2nd read about 8 yards deep streaking across the field. Use the damn bootleg, it’s the most effective pass play for a mobile qb, it scares the LB and sucks them in giving the TE a nice soft zone to catch it in, all it takes is a little touch to get it there, and if the LB/S isn’t sucked in then lamar makes them pay with his legs.

We need boots and waggles, and we need RPOs with the P actually involved.

Flacco's days seem to be numbered in Baltimore my friend....

Lamar would be able to light up defenses in Kubiak's scheme. I hope that whoever the coach is next year likes bootlegs.

I need to check in on the coaching market I haven’t even bothered yet.

As much as I don’t wanna like the idea, I can’t help it... josh mcdaniels could be a great fit for lamar. I really don’t wanna like the idea though because I worry that mcdaniels could be bad for his confidence, but thats purely because mcdaniels can be a real dickhole. Fit wise I love it and I really wonder if he’s matured.
