Lamar Jackson

I said before the draft that Lamar could end up being the best of the bunch after some experience and he's showing that he could end up being the best just after one season. Ozzie may have gotten us the second franchise QB in Ravens' history with his last draft.

These Matt waldman breakdowns are the kind of thing that every football fan needs to see and understand before they pass on their parroted cliches about him.

He is not a one read and run qb
He is not a run first qb
He is not a wr
He is a legitimate qb who is incredibly refined in some aspects and more mentally adept than I’d say half the starters in the league as just a rookie.
Trouble is, people aren't interested in understanding. It's just too much to ask.

I really hope Lamar stays the starter going forward, I like Joe and all but we can't go back to him at this point. The only thing we need is a better OC and we are set.

Weird irony... Ravens injured Charlie Batch that ushered in the Big Ben era. Steelers injured Joe and gave him the hip injury thus leading to the start of the Lamar Jackson era.

Definitely reasons for optimism here with LJ but keep in mind we just played two of the worst defenses we have played all year.

But at least now we know the best recipe for victory. The team is developing a rhythm. You cant change that now and expect the same results. Keep it rolling......at least i would..

But Harblah wont...just like his brother cant beat ohio st

IDK I’m not that confident as it seems like it’s asking a lot of a 21 yo rookie to go on the road in a hostile environment and “keep it rolling”. They’ll need to score more than 17 points on offense to win this one. I just hope whatever decision they make it produces the W.

Lamar looks really good in the pocket, poised as shit like usual. doesnt just stare down one wr..and you can see him scanning the field looking off different wrs fast af.. he just gotta stop throwing those flicked ass balls and put some power into his throws..

I’ll say that in terms of seeing the play unfold, knowing how to attack, being poised in the pocket, and just generally refined, he was 2nd in the class only to Rosen. That won’t make he or Rosen the best QB in the class, but it’s nfl qb traits that he’s simply never gotten credit for

Exactly, and it’s a shame. People would enjoy football so much goddamn more if they knew what they were watching. You know these people find lamar exciting and fun to watch and they wanna root for him so bad, but espn says WHY QB NO THROW 40 PASS

ESPN, FOX and CBS... Lamar's only scrambling around, takes too many hits he's not a pocket passer. Lazy Vick comparisons. Why are the most of them even called analysts? Josh Allen is praised for being tough and carrying his team because he takes those hits. smh.

... baker was the number Qb for me.. thought rosen was decent but baker just had all the nfl tools for me..didnt know what to think of lamar other than him looking good in the pocket.. i hope he starts rest of season. Seems like he has working his ass off cause dude been showing us signs of life. I just wanna see how comfortable he is vs better defenses

i didnt hear any that when lamar coming out but then again i stopped watching these fake ass experts a few yrs ago lol.. i think most of these analyst just say shit in hopes of being right so they can be like “ i told you so”, but i bet if their job was on the line, they wouldnt say any of that shit. I cant wait for the day nfl and nba players start calling them out and throwing dirt on their name like how they do them.

'Has no shot to play in the nfl' or 'Lamar will not buy into the things you have to do fundamentally to be a successful QB in the NFL'. haha Lamar already proved the 1st 'statement' wrong and how can you say stuff like the 2nd one. I doubt he has even met lamar.

But remember who has the last word - they will just be called petty and spoiled rich babies for firing back. Don't forget, these analysts are a part of the media and the media gets to frame things and set the narrative for their story anyway they like.

There are good outlets in the sports universe but the big boys (ESPN, FOX, CBS) are bullshit in sports reporting just like they are in any other form of "informing" the people.

I can't remember the last time I watched a pregame on Sunday.

Lamar obviously has work to do as a passer. He's not reading coverages on some of these throws and it's clearly leading to missing players and the interceptions, but the run game is so vastly revitalized. With Joe, were the Ravens breaking 90 yards a game? With Lamar, the Ravens went over 220 yards two games in a row. I get these were bad defenses, but their run defenses weren't THAT bad. Lamar just adds another element that the Ravens didn't have with Joe. Can the Ravens handle his rookie mistakes in favor of a more unpredictable offense? I don't know.

While that is true about playing two of the worst defenses; you also have to keep in mind that since the "change" from Flacco to Lamar, the Ravens ENTIRE offense has received a fresh spark, energy, and enthusiasm that they haven't shown in weeks. As a result, that FINALLY got the bleeding to stop (3 game losing streak) and the momentum train moving in their favor and has catapulted them to be 2-0. Roll with the hot hand!
