That’s for sure but it kinda seems like they don’t believe joe is the best option anymore

The common narrative seems to be “I’ve seen enough of Joe and what he can do”

Which I guess is fine. I still want to see Joe land on a team with a really good OC and a top tier offensive personnel (I think for example if Joe ended up on the Giants next year that team would be scary) before I really make my mind up. I’m sort of ready for the Ravens to move on purely from a financial and injury/age concern perspective, even though I’m skeptical more so than most on Lamar.

I worry that the success could make Lamar too reliant on running over passing. The coaching is a concern for me, they never seemed to coach joe up well or build well around him. I really really hope they give Lamar better treatment

Thats my narrative as well, there’s no reason for me to believe joe is our best option, for the simple fact that we haven’t made the playoffs in 4 out of 5 years with him and we were on a 3 game skid and looking like a non playoff team before he went down. It’s hard to find any reason to support the notion that joe is gonna lead us to the playoffs.

And I too hope he goes somewhere and tears it up. If he went to Jax or Tampa or Miami or the Giants or Denver I could see him ending up in another super bowl, he needs a big time team around him, and those teams could be big time(aside from Miami) with a qb. Any team joe goes to will automatically be the 2nd team I root for. I’ll always be a Flacco fan, I just want the best for the ravens though and I don’t think he brings that

I like Joe also, but I still want to roll with Lamar.

My main issue with Lamar is that he's a turnover machine to me. He coughs that rock up too much.

Same. He knows it too because it's REALLY going to bite us in the ass (we got lucky with that missed FG). Lamar's progression in these next 3 weeks is the only thing I care about.

He's also only a rookie. So I'm willing to be patient with him.
Indeed. Of course I want to see less of it, but he seems to find ways to redeem himself which bodes well in his favor. Next season, I won't be as patient. However, you've been the conductor of the "Build the interior o-line" train since this past offseason so I gotta give you a lot of credit there.

Eventually teams are going to key on stopping the RPOs, even if Lamar is great at it. He's not Wentz, who can compensate with his passing ability(at least not yet). Teams will be able to stop the run more consistently then. The obvious solution is acquiring a real center and left guard(if you want to keep Hurst as a backup, fine, Skura has to go regardless).

Stanley and Orlando Brown Jr. look like a great tackle duo moving forwards. That interior needs to be rebuilt from top to bottom. Bozeman has shown that he has the tools to develop into a good starting olineman so he could be one spot, but C is the thing we need most. More than any other position.

I don't like a lot of the names in the WR class.

The team is built solidly for Lamar, but a stronger interior plus the eventuality of two TE sets with Hayden Hurst and Andrews, as well as deep speed from John Brown is going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses

Lamar Jackson has X-rays on his ankle at the end of the game, which came back negative

Hate to be the party pooper, but regardless of whether you want Joe back in ASAP or keep rolling with Lamar...none of that really matters at the end of the day. In case you haven't been paying attention the past 10 years, we have serious coaching issues with the offense.
We win a SB riding Flacco's cannon? Naturally, we proceed to strip him of all his weapons and try to turn him into a checkdown queen, then wonder why he underperforms.
We go 3-1 in Lamar's first four games, in large part to his legs? Won't be long until we fix that and start having him throw the ball 45 times a game.

I do not trust this coaching staff as far as I can throw Andy Reid. (hint: that is not very far)

I love Harbs, what a great human being he is, a total class act. But it is time for someone else to be in charge.

I have the utmost respect for Harbaugh and feel he will be great for another organization, but the message is stale in Baltimore. We need a good staff, not just a good coach.

Btw, welcome back. Haven’t seen you in anwhile

I’ve been trying to say this for weeks. Like, it might be time to move on from Joe from a logistics standpoint just factoring in age and how he’s had three significant to major injuries in three years. I’d be sad to see him go but I would understand at this point.

What pisses me off is there’s a sentiment/narrative that’s prevelant here, not evenly across the board but it’s there, that puts Joe at the helm of blame for the lack of success the last few years and really downplays Flacco’s game as being mediocre at best and trash according to some.

Little to nothing in life isnrarely 100% one thing or 100% the opposite. Sure flacco deserves some blame for his play and the teams failures.

Those who are ready to scapegoat Joe and sail off to a brighter future with Lamar seem to be acknowledging very little to not at all how fucking miserable The coaching and FO have been in all of this - to say zero efforts were made is a little too far but the efforts they made were pale in comparison to those made in bolstering the defense , and the outright terrible decisions far outweigh any of the good ones. I’ll give them maybe a pass for Rice and Pitta , you can’t predict those situations. But it’s like no one on the team had half a brain to see what Flacco’s strengths and weaknesses were, and to tailor an offense around that with good coaching and personnel. Why invest so much money into the quarterback but not build the team around that investment? Flacco turned into a checkdown machine with shoddy mechanics because he’s consistently been on offenses with middling to piss poor running attacks and offensive lines that left much to be desired - and a dwindling set of targets to throw to.

Flacco may be past his prime or maybe it’s jjst best to move on to a new face , whatever. But let’s not act like the team didn’t do a good job and squandering and arguably ruining Flacco’s Health and play - and Don’t tell me not to be concerned about Lamar - this staff doesn’t build around quarterbacks , it uses them and leaves them hanging out to dry.

Also keep in mind any concerns about Lamar are fine if you want him to start right now. If you want to play Joe even just for the rest of the year even in tandem with Lamar to protect the young guy, and because you have concerns about run heavy offenses that ride a mobile quarterback... you’ll get pushback ranging from criticisms saying you’re unfairly trashing a rookie quarterback to ridiculously being called racist.

Preach. I think when it comes down to it, since the superbowl win, joe has not played his worth for a contract. Dont get me wrong, many before joe and im sure many after him will not live up to their contract. I've mentioned before seeing lamar in at qb we have more buzz about our offence. At the end of the day its just frustrating. Is it just me or our d needs a kick in the ass? Being critical yes, but 3rd and long and mahomes throws up some hail mary type throw to hill just cant happen. I dont know..im still grieving......

Welcome back brother. You are absolutely right. Harbaugh is a decent guy and there are a lot worse coaches out there, but we absolutely have coaching issues that have cost us in close games. I do not trust him either. Harbaugh picks and hangs onto horrible coordinators like Pees, Trestman, and Cam Cameron. We are a better team than the results are showing. It is very frustrating!!!!
