I don’t completely blame Stanley because he may not even notice it. There’s a lot of blame we could toss around for this though. This should be noticed during self scouting sessions when the team looks at the tape. You would think someone like Suggs would notice tells in an OL and let them know or a coach would notice this. Not absolving Stanley of the tell because he needs to fix it, but I also can see how maybe he didn’t realize it.

Yeah that’s how I see it. You could spread this blame over your entire OL and coaches involved with the OL.

I also agree that defensive players such as Suggs should have noticed this tell as well.

title is a bit misleading - this is something ive been a proponent of for a while - that you dont need to be a good running team to be a good play-action team

the title is misleading because the running game does matter but you dont need to establish it for your play action concepts to be successful - you do need to establish it (in the sense that you need a running game) in order to keep a defence guessing and to control the clock and to rest a defence

now i suppose that doesnt actually have to be actual runs per se but the running game extensions like screen passes, and checkdowns and toss plays are important - you cant win with solely a downfield passing game and no complement...

He also mentions at the end.....a successful ypc for running the ball is about 5. While USUAL ypa for passing is around 8+. So why bother running, if you're going to average far more passing. Hence, "it's a passing league now" philosophy.
