right but hes never said they just look at stats and analytics - like a sensible person he's talked about how it's just another useful tool to help them evaluate our own and other players

Anyone with eyes can see that CJ has a profound impact on the defense, way beyond the stat sheet. Simply put, our defense will be in shambles if we don't bring CJ back.

Not only that, for the first time in years we have an identity again. And CJ is a big part of that. If we let CJ walk that's a massive hit to the identity of this team, and that's something we cannot easily recover from. There isn't another player on the market that is capable of bringing what he brings to the table, and you're not going to find it in the draft.

For most teams, it's true that the ILB position isn't what it was a decade or two ago. For us, the Panthers, and Seahawks, the defense goes through there's. Pay the man or get fucking lost.

EDC himself has said said that himself. It's not like we are going 100% analytics.

Analytics won't be the reason he walks. It will be shear dollars. If paying CJ 15 or so million a season will prohibit us from signing Pierce, Humphrey and other young players then we need to let him walk. I want him to be a Raven next season and beyond but not at the expense of the team.

I love all the cj mosley talk..literally all you mfs have some great opinions on why or why not we should keep him and also what he means to the team and all that other shit. like there isnt really any post that someone can disagree with.. this resigning must be hard af on decosta!!

I know people are kinda pissed because Ravens trolled us by announcing an undisclosed player re-signing and we all thought CJ but too much hate against Boyle. I’m nervous due to his history of suspensions, but he can block and I guess is big for the OL & Lamar. I hope this isn’t our only move, obviously, but it’s not terrible. Some other guys gotta go too.

in the end i think thats because for most of us the right/wrong decision is entirely based on the actual amount he gets from either us or another team

for me if he goes anywhere and gets less than 13.5/yr average im gonna be pretty frustrated because that's close enough that i feel like we should have paid it if we were close (and we should be)

if he gets more than 13.5, especially if we start getting up around 14 or more ill be disappointed but ultimately will understand why we didnt keep him

likewise if we keep him and it's 14 or more ill probably be frustrated that we probably overpaid (albeit given how close the new CBA is id likely get over it)

Lamar's offense will be very TE dependent. ANd he needs TE's that can block. The jury is out on Hurst in that category but Andrews looks like a stout blocker.
The best thing to happen to Boyle was Lamar becoming QB.

If Nick Boyle is the only move, and CJ walks, and The Ravens go MLB in the first round, this board might literally melt down or explode. (Obviously that most likely will not be the case), but Man Alive, it would be bad lol
