Militant X 1

Ravens Ring of Honor
All in good fun folks! I know @Militant X 1 is a Yankees fan so I'm glad to know isn't just the both of us. Good shit @Giants56Ravens52 !

Absolutely! Live in VA but born and raised in New York.

Yankees fan but never really been a Knicks, Jets, Mets or a Giants fan (per se). Although, I did cheer for the Knicks to play well during the Patrick Ewing era and the Giants when they won their Super Bowls. However, when they played and got destroyed by our Ravens that was bittersweet!

I think you're a little off there. If you're going to blame his contract on anyone leaving, it should be Manny.

Understood. Truth be told, I've never been a big baseball fan. ONLY reason why I roll with the pinstripes is because my dad and some of his family are Yankees fans. In my life, I've been to two Yankees games: one in 2011 in NY (it was like mist literally came from the sky that day) and one this past season in Tampa (75-80% Yankees fans in that arena, I might add).

Totally wrong! It was the NFL's fault. They could have had the opener at home but they chose to use the "religious holiday" as an excuse, even though we play on Christmas. The O's had their schedule set already, it would have affected them negatively. The other team didn't want to move it either. So really, how is that the Orioles' fault? It isn't.

i thought the ravens had to play on the road because the Orioles were playing on the Thursday at home and so the Ravens couldn't play at home...

did i miss something?

See, I have no problem with that. I would wish your team good luck, but you know. :p

Yes that is correct. But they could have played on that Wednesday, there was absolutely no reason they could not have. They said it was because it was a Jewish holiday and they couldn't play on a religious holiday. It's total bull crap.

i had no idea wednesday was ever an option - tbf it would be pretty odd for the NFL to played on a wednesday lol
Well it was an option that was talked about and why not play then? I think they could have played a night game on that following Sunday too, but I'm not sure about that.

that'would have been Rosh Hashana, the jewish new year. I've seen teams play on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kipper on multiple occasions. It was total baloney.

I wish I was a Yankees fan. Growing up in CT, I could have chosen the Yankees or even the Red Sox to root for, but my dad was able to steer me towards becoming a Mets fan. FML

I think it was the Os that would have moved to Wednesday. Right?

Pretty sure the proposal was for a Wednesday night game. @The Greek wrote a great post about it on the old boards. The point is it was the NFL's responsibility to make it work, not MLB's. The White Sox did not want to move the game either. It is easy to blame the O's but it is short-sighted.

When you play 162 games in 6 months all over the country and have to also account for rainouts it can be tough to make a move that may seem simple.
