Just watched PFF’s mock draft (3 rounds) on YouTube
1st round: Cody ford
3rd round: miles Boykin and oshane ximines.

I would be happy with this draft
This draft would leave me pretty depressed. I might be the only one who thinks this but Cody Ford is overrated. his tape is hit or miss. Some of it could be that he is projected to guard but he is flat out clueless at times at RT. Very inconsistent.

The other two are projects. I would really be disappointed if we drafted this way with our first three picks.

We wouldn't need him to play RT though.

I admit I don’t know enough to eye in on Oline talent. But voch Lombardi loves him and rates him his #1 oline coming out. So I would be excited still haha

Ya I’ve seen media say they’d be surprised if it’s not a WR in the 1st, but I honestly feel the opposite. I don’t see it happening because Ravens just don’t value the position highly (and other teams do) so most prospects are gonna go before what they think they’re worth. I mean I totally understand it’s a huge need, but it’s almost always a huge need that they never address.

Also, there’s no complete WRs in this class just ones that win in limited areas. They all come with some decent risk and development needed. There is no sure fire, pro ready receiver like Calvin Ridley was last year. I still can’t believe we took Hurst over him, that was literally the perfect chance for us to grab a young WR (Already refined, wins with speed/routes, decent value, from Bama). Metcalf would be great if he falls to 22, but that’s very unlikely. It’s much more likely the FO waits until day two and three to take a few swings and hope one develops
Oh don't you know it ... would you trade Hurst for Ridley right now .. in a heartbeat.

I was surprised when we didn't take James (he's the only guy I deemed that had no chance to fall to us who actually did), but then I was stunned when we didn't take either Ridley or Moore.

Who knows ... maybe Hurst turns it on this year and becomes a stud - be we can already see that Ridley would be our best WR by a lot if we had him. It would be nice to be treating WR this year as a position of need instead of position of desperate need.

Remember, there was a second trade down before Ridley. And the 4th round pick we got out of that went towards trading up for Lamar. Without that trade down we might not have Lamar Jackson. It's not Ridley vs Hurst. It's Ridley vs Hurst and Jackson.

Miles Boykin looks wayyyy too slow to be an nfl receiver imo. He’s got fucking lead shoes.

Normally, I like to look at a wide range of mocks and get an idea of who has a chance (or who has basically no chance) to fall to us at the spot we pick. Of course, it isn't a perfect science - but it does give you a pretty decent read on guys that are likely to be there for us.

This year, it seems almost pointless. In most years, I'm not surprised when we trade back, but this year I will be absolutely stunned if we don't trade back and I'm expecting multiple trade backs that push our first pick into round 2. I can't imagine we'll be so in love with anyone who drops to us that we won't still be seeking to get more picks.

No matter what we do, there is no way I see us addressing our 3 main needs: WR, EDGE and OL in the draft. We aren't getting 3 immediate impact players at those 3 positions ... we'll be lucky if we get 2. We'll need to address those needs with cap cuts and roll into 2019 with a weakness at one of those positions.

... And Jackson? No, it is Hurst + 4th round pick vs. Ridley. The way you state that, Jackson would have to have been a 4th round pick. He was not.

I think we'd have probably shorted ourselves of picks yet more for this year to trade up. I think we were going up and getting Lamar any way we could.

I just don't know if the margin of difference in that 4th rounder is more than the difference between Hurst and Ridley.

No matter how you slice it ... unless Hurst shows us a significant improvement, he was not even close to worth the 1st round pick we used on him. Of course, can't fully evaluate these picks (good or bad) for another year. At this point, I'm hoping Andrews turns out to be a 1st round level performer and Hurst maybe can produce like a 3rd rounder and then it will all be a wash.

Call it a wash in pick value terms but the opportunity was lost. With Ridley, that would turn into two 1st rounders for 1st and 3rd pick.

So if it does not register. Per the mock draft simulator thingy

1. Erik McCoy, C
3a. Deebo Samuel, WR
3b. Connor McGovern, OG
4a. Trysten Hill, IDL
4b. Damien Harris, RB
5. Emeke Egbule, LB
6a. Jalen Jelks, Edge
6b. Hunter Renfrow

Super realistic.......

We used that 4th round pick to get Jackson. Without it we likely aren't able to trade up for Jackson.

We swapped 4th 4 rounders as part of last years deal to move into the 1st round and take Jackson.

Bucky Brooks did a youtube mock that consisted of every teams first two picks, with no trades.

He had us taking D.K. Metcalf with pick 22 and JJAW with pick 85.

I'm not a big fan of DK but if this happened.... I'd be ecstatic. No lie. That'd be a great start to getting LJ weapons. Realistically, I think both go before those slots

I agree, I believe DK goes before #22 and JJAW probably goes in the 2nd, maybe high in the 2nd.
