Ravens Trade News: Marcus Peters, etc...

i wonder if we're still not done yet....

me too, EDC was supposed to be incredibly active building up towards the trade deadline (albeit that was according to *** and we know most of the time he's wrong)

not sure what other route we go to find help but at this point the only place i see us targeting help is pass rusher (interior or edge) but not sure where we'd find that sort of help at this point

There’s no comparison, it’s just not uncommon. Over the years a ton of corners have made the move to safety. Plus there are so many moving parts in this defense that it wouldn’t shock me to give him looks there in certain packages.

jimmy's play-style doesnt really suit that move though - jimmy's strengths are his abilities as a press-man corner and using his length and strength to out-leverage receivers that's not something that's particularly conducive to safety play

I can see them moving Carr to S in certain DB heavy packages.

here's the ultimate cherry on top of this deal - let's say marcus peters only plays this year and leaves in free agency - we likely turned a 2020 5th round pick into a 2021 3rd/4th round comp pick + whatever games peters plays for us this year

and if we re-sign him then it doesnt really matter

of course they have, but with practice

I read somewhere that he is currently graded in the top 10 CBs this year.

Peter Schrager on twitter:

One note, re: Peters/Rams. Org loved him, caused zero problems. Wasn't a personality thing, here. Wanted to go young and player was in contract year. Trade was to a 4-2 team viewed as a top org. Good for both sides.

Very thoughtful of them to trade him to a team they felt would compete. Makes me look at that organization a little different now.

Hey, want to trade Darnold? lol

Johnny Hekker (Rams punter) had some nice things to say about Peters:

I can’t say enough good things about
@marcuspeters
and the man, teammate, and community member he is. I wish him nothing but the best moving forward.

This is just insane. Damn this is a potential game changer in the afc because when jimmy is back and healthy come playoff time, that’s a secondary of marlon Humphrey(near DPOY level play), earl Thomas, Marcus Peters, jimmy smith, and Brandon Carr, that is ridiculous. And even now while jimmy is hurt, we now have 3 stable corners.

Let’s move Marcus Peters to sTrOnG sAfEtY
I don’t hate the idea, his skill set seems like it could work as a robber type. My only concern would be obviously how he holds up in the run game and whether or not he would handle the move well given his history and temperament

Will it be possible to sign him and Marlon?
