Ravens Trade News: Marcus Peters, etc...

Since we have Marlon, I would rather have Peters than giving up two first rounders and a fourth Ramsey, who is going to be a bear for any front office to deal with. Marlon, IMHO, has been just as good as Ramsey. Although having Ramsey and Marlon on the same team, may just be able to account for the weak pass rush we currently have.

I still don’t understand why everyone on the Broncos besides Von could be available. You’re really going to rebuild your defense around a 30 year old? Trade him to us, Elway.........please

And I'm thrilled about that as well. He goes to the NFC and we get Marcus Peters ( a ball hawk and pro bowl press corner ) for Kenny Young and Kaare Vedvik!! I think over time we find out we won that trade big time.
Didn't even think about the 5th that we got! Good call.

we can let Peters leave in free agency and probably get a 3rd round comp so idk how anyone can be upset with this trade

Honestly, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but I might be more in favor of the Peters trade than the Ramsey one. Ramsey is arguably the most talented CB in the league from a skill-set standpoint, or he's at least up there. And once he gets what he wants, I'm sure that he could turn back into his 2017 version. But with that being said, his performance since then has seemingly depended too much on where his emotional state is. He was a solid starting CB last year, but that's arguably it. He's struggled this season. Peters isn't the talent that Ramsey is, but at least we have an out with Peters in that it's a rent-to-own where we can recoup the security deposit. If you trade all of the assets for Ramsey, you have to pay him either way. If it was a situation akin to Khalil Mack, where you know exactly what you're getting, I'd be screaming for us to pull the trigger. Here though, I can't say that I'm upset with how things have worked out. Now, at least.
So, if a Khalil Mack situation happened right now, like literally repeat the entire thing but a year later and replace the 2018 bears with the 2019 ravens, would you want to make that trade?

I don’t see why doing this has anything to do with Jimmy? We may just like him and planned on pursuing him anyway there is nothing wrong with having 4 very good corners a lot of teams would love to have Brandon Carr also
Carr isn't going anywhere. He has one more option left on his contract.

I wonder why two teams have been so eager to send Marcus Peters packing.

Glad to have him aboard though. Baltimore needs corners like nobody's business.

I was under the impression that Peters was moved out of KC and didn't garner a lot of trade capital, partly because of his attitude. I don't know that I've heard much about him lately on that front. It would appear on the surface that they wanted to move him in front of the Ramsey trade.

I was first alerted to the fact that the Ravens were involved in a trade. I couldn't help but wonder ... could it be Ramsey? I've said before I'd be shocked if we gave up the kind of haul JAX was looking for and that it didn't make sense to have 2 mega-high dollar CBs on the roster waiting to get paid.

When I saw the deal, I was relieved. I did not want to see us cough up a significant chunk of our future in trade for this year. At first I had to think about this some ... I know word had been that Peters had been coveted by our organization and he was quality guy, at least from what I knew.

I really feel like this is the level of horse trading we should be involved with and that we can fill some desperate needs without expending too much future capital, that's the way to go. I don't think there are any real blockbusters available involving pass rush so I think we look to pull a deal at about the same level as this one.

without a doubt
People talk about the need for CB but we already have our top guy there in Humphrey and Carr and Canady have at least been respectable. We need depth there and Peters will help along with getting Smith back when that happens. Our front 7 isn't really what it was last year though. A Mack would be a game changer just like it was in Chicago where they didn't have that top OLB.

Teams talk a real big game. Rams just said Ramsey wasn't going. Broncos claim the same thing. Problem is, doesn't look like they're going anywhere and Miller has one year left with a club option. I'm not saying, I'm just sayin...
