mmqb just mocked us trading up to 23 for murray, now that's 2 mock drafts that came out today saying we'll swap picks with the pats

and that means im not buying it at all
yep, exactly how I feel. This is probably info getting leacked by the front office on purpose....a total smokesreen

i just cannot see how the bengals accept any offer tbh - there's only 1 slam dunk qb in this class right now and they get to pick him - to give that away and then not even get the best non-qb in the class because he's gone at 2 would be wild even for 2 top 5 picks...

given the dolphins going all out to trade up im guessing that means the medical on tua is really worrying them which would mean that at 3 the bengals would have to take herbert and then take a blue-chip player at 5 but is that worth missing out on burrow?

i dont think so
I agree. But you'll never get a better off than that offer for that pick. You would have to feel like Burrow isn't that much further ahead on your board than Tua or Herbert, because you can still get (perceived) a great QB + one of the best defensive players or one of the top Tackles in the draft.

Ultimately these kinds of rumors almost never have legs. I don't think there's much of a chance the first two picks go any differently than what we've all expected for months.

tbh, I don't think any qb in this draft class is a slam dunk. Joe Burrow comes from a Brady offense that was loaded in talent on both sides of the ball AND he has only one year of starting experience. I want the Bengals to draft Burrow instead of trading back and getting a bunch of top picks.

I don't think they can afford him. Bucs are right up against the cap right now, meaning they'd have to cut significant assets to make room for him. With no extension, he's owed $12.5M this year, and even with one, his cap hit is still likely to be in that range.

Bucs would need to clear like $10M + in cap space to make that work. The irony for me is... that's what they're going to pay Gronk, at a position they didn't need.
Would a trade swap + picks with OJ Howard make sense in that case? Howard has about 4.5M that will be immediately available to sign Williams and they can still manipulate 6-7M more through their existing players - extensions, roster bonus conversions, etc. no? Just a thought. Teams usually find creative ways to fit in must have players...

Naw nothing was worse than perriman lol..
Perriman has had some success since he has been able to stay healthy. Although I never saw him as a 1st round pick, I thought he was a 2nd round pick. He had two big injuries when he was a Raven and no way in hell is he the worst pick. Not a chance....if anything, that's Kyle Boller because we took way too long with him at the helm. It's either Boller or Elam.

Pro Football Talks' Mike Florio reports the Dolphins are attempting to acquire the No. 3 pick in order to make the Bengals a Godfather offer for the No. 1 pick.
Per Florio, "The Dolphins believe that a potential Godfather offer to the Bengals for the first overall pick would be even harder to refuse if the Dolphins offer both No. 3 and No. 5 as part of the package. That’s the primary purpose of the Miami effort to finagle No. 3 from Detroit." Previously ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Bengals have declined the Dolphins' efforts to move up to No. 1. It's unlikely we see that stance change, although two top-five picks would certainly be enticing.

As far as I can tell, trading Howard only free up ~$2.0M in cap space, since the Bucs are still on the hook for his prorated signing bonus portion, which is basically half of his current year cap hit.

So basically, it still means the Bucs need significant cap space to sign him. They could cut Lavonte David or Ryan Jensen to free up most of the space, but I think those are two players they'd very much like to keep.

I was saying like pre draft though.. boller was the worst pick by far but pre draft, it was easy to tell that perriman wasnt all that good

I'd really hate to see the Bengals get two top-five picks. The Dolphins need to chill....

Seeing what Lamar has become has given me draft anxiety that I dont normally have, I just don't want to see his talent wasted like a Rodgers or Luck. I really hope we nail this draft.

8. Arizona Cardinals

Trade with Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots

Cardinals get: 1-23, 3-98 (from NE), 2-55, 3-92, 4-129 (from BAL)
Ravens get: 2021 first-round pick (from NE)
Patriots get: 1-8

The Patriots have never made this sort of trade under Bill Belichick, but desperate times call for desperate measures. If they want to move forward with Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer at quarterback, they won't need to make this sort of deal. If they want to go after Justin Herbert or Jordan Love, though, this is the sweet spot for New England, which doesn't have a second-round pick and probably doesn't want to commit the draft capital to get much higher. The Jaguars could be in line to draft a quarterback at No. 9, so if the Pats think a franchise signal-caller is on the board, they're going to have to move up to get him.

With just one player to show from the five drafts general managers Rod Graves and Steve Keim oversaw between 2012 and 2016, the Cardinals have been forced to rely on free agency to try to fill the holes on their roster. Nobody in the world will fault them for using a second-round pick to acquire DeAndre Hopkins as part of the David Johnson theft, but trading down here and acquiring extra selections makes sense for them in the big picture.

Lamar Jackson. That first-rounder could turn out to be juicy if the Patriots take a step backward in 2020. Baltimore once traded a future first-round pick to the Patriots to find its quarterback of the future and ended up drafting Kyle Boller, with Belichick using the first-rounder from the Ravens to draft Vince Wilfork. This is Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta's chance to get revenge.

28. Baltimore Ravens

Trade with Chicago Bears

Ravens get: 2-50, 2021 first-round pick
Bears get: 1-28

The Ravens have five picks in the first three rounds of this draft, so while they are an organization that typically looks to trade down and amass extra picks, they can afford to get creative. The Bears, on the other hand, find themselves in a more desperate position after a wildly frustrating 2019 season. Their first-round pick went to the Raiders, and while they have an extra second-rounder, various trades have cost them their third-round pick and a pair of fourth-rounders.

Prince Amukamara and have added only former Steelers first-rounder Artie Burns to replace him. Chicago could be looking for someone like A.J. Terrell or Kristian Fulton in this range; if Antoine Winfield Jr. were to fall here, the Bears could also slot Winfield in as a starting safety alongside Eddie Jackson.

I'd really hate to see the Bengals get two top-five picks. The Dolphins need to chill....

I would rather see the Bengals with two top 5 picks than land Burrow, now I don't really rate Burrow as a franchise changing QB I just like the idea of the Bengals having no stability at QB. I'd rather they get Tua because of his medicals, or nobody.
