The Running Game, The Lamar and The Ronnie

Uh oh we got a problem brewing lol

I felt this, outside of Lamar turning the ball over the biggest issue is what we are trying to do on offense when we aren’t running the ball.
I’m confused. I can’t be the only one that feels we aren’t utilizing our speed unless it’s a deep ball

i mean we're not at all - nothing creative downfield using all that speed - we're being sort of creative with duvernay because we know he's not a natural route runner so we're creating plays for him but we're not extending that creativity to any of the rest of the offence which is a mistake

we've got so much speed and dynamism in the offence and we're refusing to use it creatively

I agree. When we are throwing, what is it exactly that we are asking Lamar to do? I don’t see many guys go short just in case the defense gets to Lamar which it has time and time again

Roman's gotta go. Pretty simple. Exactely the same thing happened in Buffalo and in SF. Great running game and abysmal passing game.

The ball was wobbling soon as it left lamar's hand. It continued to wobble and was touched by another defender before it got to number 82. Tipped ball. not even close to P.I. Had it not been tipped, the ball approached with nasty change up deceleration and faded like a slider. P.I. maybe could have been called without the tip. Lamar got all the pitches!!!
It wasn't tipped, and Minkah hit Snead in the head with his shoulder right as Snead was going to catch the ball. Re-watching the play, it looks like it fits the NFL's description of a hit to a defenseless receiver.

im just not sure who could takeover at this point
is james urban ready for that role?
david culley's supposedly been the passing game coordinator this whole time so not sure if roman goes that culley isn't just more of the same...
Drawing up plays is one aspect of being an OC. Putting together a gameplan and knowing how to adjust your plan in-game is another. Remember when the 49ers were marching down the field on their final drive and we couldn't stop them. Neither Kap nor Gore. But on the goal line he called fades to Crabtree.
Roman has shown over and over again that he's been bad at situational play calling. Culley and Urban may have great pass concepts but Roman is reluctant to use them because they don't work well with his run concepts. We don't know how much or to what extent they're both involved in play calling and scheme.

i just watched it again and he was contacted in the head and he was defenceless but im not sure that fitzpatrick's actually hitting him - it looks worse because of the player behind him

i think we probably had a better case for the player behind snead hitting snead in the back before the ball got there - but it's more the force of that hit that makes them make contact

you could argue both ways on the helmet to helmet - but if it had been a reversed situation i would have hated that if it had been called on us

oh for sure im purely hypothesising but culley has that title so you have to assume some culpability in the same way we gave roman tons of credit for the running game when he was the TE coach and running game coordinator under marty

it's harder to see the fingerprints because we dont know what a culley offence looks like (whereas when marty was here we knew what a roman offence looked like)
