Besides, teams like OAK (and I think JAX at the time) had crazy amounts of cap. We were never going to win that bidding war.Don’t think so. No matter how much cap we had we were not paying KO $11.7 mil. a year or more.
Bet that’s a short one. :-)Wasn't sure where else to advertise, but LiT and I did an article on the quarter season awards.
Yeah, just let him get smashed play after play. That’ll teach him.Imo there is no need to sign any players. It really dont matter if we had raiders or cowboys oline. Flacco is still flacco. Even when he has time to throw, his passes anddecision making is terrible
i think that's more a testament to the dearth of quality o linemen in the nfl at the moment rather than a bad job by the front office - the bottom of the barrel is even bottomier now

I think this one is shorter than normal...Bet that’s a short one.![]()
Any team losing their best player would be a huge blow. Yanda is a top 15 player easily in this game. Actually if you rated it by talent by position Yanda could be argued being top 5. But teams don't value guards that high. Yanda is that guy that can play anywhere you ask him... Center, Guard, Tackle, Quarterback, Punt Returner..... So much talent is gone that people on the outside don't realize.Losing 3 guards they started OTAs with screwed them. Then losing Yanda really screwed them.
Yeah, and I don’see or buy into the thought some around here have that “all teams go through this(injuries) and do fine”. Bullshit. Any team that has this magnitude of players lost is going to struggle.Any team losing their best player would be a huge blow. Yanda is a top 15 player easily in this game. I agree there is a difference from injury prone players to this. Every year this team is leading the league in injuries and only a couple are consistently injured. It is usually different players. I don't understand what it could be besides practice wrong or working out wrong. What is it like 17 players on IR now? Probably around there. That is 1/3 of the beginning roster gone.Yeah, and I don’see or buy into the thought some around here have that “all teams go through this(injuries) and do fine”. Bullshit. It seems like for the last few years we're constantly getting injured and have way more players on IR than most.
This might be crazy but I'm of the opinion it wouldn't be a bad idea to switch Skura and Jensen. Skura just doesn't have thwe makeup of a guard imo while Jensen seems to be slow getting into pass protect. Idk I just tjhink Jensen could be a nice mauling guard on the right side where teams generally like to run.
It's not just you, definitely. I've seen comments on that particular rotation calling it the stupidest move ever (close to it, not literally) and I couldn't agree more. I think they should have left Bergstrom in all along. Position wouldn't suffer more than it does now and there would be a chance of slight improvement maybe. Or at least let one of the young guys to try figure it out.Could be just me, but I'm not a big proponent of switching between two different linemen as we have with Matt Skura and Jermaine Eluemunor.
Bergstorm didn't play great but he surely seemed to be atleast average. That is far better than those other two pieces of trash. Matt is actually pretty good in run blocking and pulling, but he is one of the worst pass blockers I have seen. He legit looks like a fullback out there. Jermaine looks like he has never played a down before. He allowed a sack on Flacco where we went out to block and looked like he thought the play was a screen. It looks like Ozzie is praying he will be a legend so people don't realize how bad he has gotten at drafting. It's not just you, definitely. I’ve never seen that done before and it doesn’t allow them to develop chemistry. I think they should use Eluemenor and have Skura as depthCould be just me, but I'm not a big proponent of switching between two different linemen as we have with Matt Skura and Jermaine Eluemunor.
I'd rather not move Jensen tbh - flaccos trust/ chemistry with the oline is bad enough as it is without taking away his center + the hardest pressure to deal with is pressure up the middle... remember how awful our oline was when we had gradkowski getting bullied into flaccos lap snap after snap
One of the reasons I was kinda liking the switch is Flacco has only been playing with Jensen as center for a short while. Jensen could also leave as free agent while Skura could provide long term answer. I'm already seeing pressure up the middle cuz Jensen seems to be slow from getting out of his crouch in pass pro.
