Divisional Round Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills

I will be surprised if Roman does NOT get fired after this debacle. He has to go.
You know, I've been positive that he will be back for another year, but 3 points in a playoff game is...well 3 points in a playoff game. Maybe he will be let go.

Anyone know the details of his contract?

An excruciatingly deflating loss, made worse by the fact that it was literally less than a handful of plays away from a potential win. And perhaps it's nearly impossible to take in the entirety of the season during the sting. That being said, in spite of the offensive and special teams miscues (the latter being especially uncommon), the defense has shown in the postseason that it's capable of keeping us in games in December and January. Offensively, the return of Stanley will help neutralize the OL woes that surfaced tonight. Schematically, the passing game needs a massive overhaul (I've personally been confounded by our route combinations for most of the season). From a talent standpoint, if we add a starting caliber WR, possibly an interior lineman, the pieces are there for us to build on this year moving forward. Congratulations to the Bills, and thank you to the Bills fans that showed up here to support their team and did so in a polite and a respectful manner. Kudos to ya'll.

You know if we played well and lost I would be very unhappy but not feel as bad as this after this debacle.
We know how the Steelers fans feel after losing to the Browns in their debacle.

If this team loses in the playoffs in a hard fought game I think more people will be accepting. But this team implodes and has done it for the past 3 yrs.
I might be in the minority but I want Harbs to go. Something drastic needs to change and it starts at the top.

Yeah, it's just been all bad. Normally sure-handed receivers dropping critical passes, Lamar making terrible decisions when he usually takes care of the football, our OL getting absolutely demolished when they were mauling everyone during the regular season, etc.

I don't know how we fix this, but I'd almost rather miss the playoffs then watch another one of these collapses. Gonna be another long off season of pondering, "What if...?" Fucking sucks man
You know, I’ve said it before, but I really considered it a lost season after Ronnie went down. For us to come this far is pretty remarkable in my eyes. I didn’t even think we’d make the playoffs. I’m just happy Lamar got his first playoff win, but Harbaugh and EDC need to do some soul searching and really figure out what to do to make this offense an absolute juggernaut even when the run game is stopped.

So hard to believe that this can be said with a straight face one season after their record breaking year.

It’s a shit position to be in honestly. The offense can probably steamroll 7 out of 10 defensive fronts in the league. And putting up godlike stats against the Jags, Giants, and Bengals can make the team look a lot better than it is on paper.

But in the playoffs you really gotta be able to win when a defense can scheme away your best plays. Some teams can be run on until they give up (like the Titans were), but you can’t win a championship if all you have is counters, scrambles or pulls. You’re always going to get beat by a good, complete team.

You may be right . The Chargers , Titans and now the Bills playoff games were all embarrassing and we were completely outcoached in all three.

Not saying I disagree with you, but it simply won’t happen. Harbaugh has the keys for at least 2 or 3 more years unless EDC starts fleecing left and right and we become a mini dynasty. Fuck Roman though

Roman did nothing after the Bills adjusted to the first offensive set..... until the beginning of the second half !!!!!!!!!!! That is a firing offense IMO . You have to be able to change on the fly and Roman gets outcoached frequently when playing well coached teams.

I just wonder if the outcome would have been any different if Ronnie was playing. Our interior OL has repeatedly let us down in crunch time over the past 3 seasons. Bills were getting pressure even when not blitzing and that's been a common theme in our 3 playoff losses. I think we definitely need to invest in the IOL through the draft and/or FA.

Come on , it’s not EDC that needs to do some soul searching it’s the entire franchise ,including the fans. Love Lamar to death but this game is run by pocket passers. Signing him to a massive extension in the offseason is going to cripple this team. Sure we’ll continue to beat up on the little guys and even some +.500 teams from time to time. At the end of the day this league revolves around pure pocket passers who have the intelligence and arm strength to digest what defenses throw at them. Kids an amazing athlete just not a great thrower.

Don't get me wrong Romans playcalling sucks and I want him gone too. But we can't juat keep getting rid of the coordinators and not holding Harbs accountable. How many OC we have gone through with harbs? Curious and don't feel like searching lol

And who does this fall on? Roman. Point, blank, period. You don’t keep calling sweeps when they don’t work. 3 receiver sets won’t cut it against defenses playing dime. I saw no screens tonight to neutralize the pass rush. Dives up the gut weren’t working yet we kept going back to them. Seriously, fuck Roman. I will lose all respect for Harbaugh if he keeps him after tonight. Fuck all that “we need Roman for Lamar to be successful bullshit”. You can’t keep protecting Lamar. Either he’s an NFL QB that can make all the throws, audibles and reads or he isn’t. Fuck this pistol bullshit. I want to see a more traditional offense. Let Lamar be Lamar. If he fails, so be it. It’s better than crumbling every time in the playoffs.

Roman has consistently been outcoached in the playoffs and it’s not even close .

Literally every thing that could have gone wrong went horrifically wrong. Since they did win a playoff game, I guess I'll take a loss in the postseason. It wasn't long ago that they struggled to make it to the dance... I think I prefer getting to the playoffs.

Every. Single. Time. You’ll get posters on here that claim it’s up to execution, and that’s fair, but execution has nothing to do with calling the same plays when defenses have it figured out

Fair point , I’d like to see once and for all if Lamar can handle big boy football rather than this hand made high school offense. If he can great, extend him, if not look to start fresh in the following draft

i mean yes maybe out-coached but more just out-executed and self-destructed

you cant have players implode and win

the passing game has a serious issue but not sure where to pinpoint us getting outcoached necessarily - a couple of guys on the bills just made 1 or 2 great plays and a couple of ravens made 1 or 2 crucial mistakes

that's not coaching

I’m going to have to disagree with you on this one, despite how critical I’ve been on Lamar lately. People don’t realize how often he puts the team on his back when our “weapons” can’t get open. Can he improve on his passing? Oh, without a doubt. But look at who’s around him. Boykin is trash. Dez is never open. Mark and Hollywood can have the dropsies, etc. I’m not ready to extend him yet, though

He was definitely scared of calling passing plays throughout most of the first half even when the Bills were selling out on the run. Roman has failed to call good games in the playoffs and I'm tired of his shit. Sure, the execution has also been very bad, but it shouldn't take an entire half for him to make adjustments in must-win games. Also, he can't scheme open guys to save his fucking life. Can we please lure Kubiak out of retirement?
