given they've got 200 players on their board, it would be impossible for their board to have been wiped out - which suggests that they do really like him...
just hard for non-nfl personnel to find out anything about him
NP its def a pain in the ass to go through 3 hours of a game though to find a couple plays though lmaothanks
His only pick but some impressive ball skills there. Also the fact that hes had his hands on 22 passes over 2 years after switching positions is impressive.
Ya idk how to find more on this kid outside twitter and what not. Just gonna have to hope and pray he pans out lmao
This is pretty interesting. I typically lean slightly more pessimistic than optimistic. So I think I'm in the minority here, but I think the draft has been pretty excellent given the circumstances.
1 Bateman was clearly BPA at a position of need.
Nothing else needs to be said excellent pick.
2 Oweh has everything you could want physically and effort wise. Hes also super new to the game and should be very coachable. He's also as EDC and Wink said, extremely quick to the QB. I think this is a great upside pick. Recall our defense was pretty great last year and that was with literally bum ass production from Yannick, Judon, and Ferguson with regards to sacks. I struggle to believe Oweh is worse than the Ravens version of Yannick. Also, we retained Bowser and will likely bring in Houston. Maybe it's just me but we may find Oweh + Houston > Judon + Ngakoue.
3 Cleveland is an animal. Bozeman returns to his natural position at C, that probably at base removes our snapping issues. Then wither Cleveland or Powers plays LG. If Cleveland wins that job its probably because he's a stud. The team would have been happy with him in the second. If he's not ready, Powers is a good guard and he would be moving back to his natural position as well. Dont count out the LG will now be between Stanley and Bozeman. Stanley, Cleveland, Bozeman Zeitler or Stanley, Powers, Bozeman, Zeitler is going to be very strong. Cleveland at least again due to intangibles gives us an opportunity to get an above average player as opposed to just average. Good pick, potentially great if he is who they think he is.
4 Stephens. Dude is an athlete. 22 pass breakups in 2 years to a position he's new too. Also, guess what. Theres zero need for him this year. The kid will be a big time special teamer and will have the opportunity to learn under our mentors how to play safety. Hes got all the physical tools to do it, just gotta happen. We believe in coaching up DBs and I think that's reasonable.
In a draft where everything was shook the fuck up, we took what should be a sure thing with our top pick and physical specimens with good work ethics at positions of need. We needed oline depth, safety depth, and were dying for an edge. We believe we can get these guys going. Add in AV and JH as free agents and this team should be rocking.
I'm fired up, hope you all can eventually join me
Problem is we cant really find film on him and if we view him as a FS we wont be able to see that for ourselves on tape regardless. We got him on the idea of traits and what we project him to be at the next level. From the little clips they showed after getting drafted he def has recovery speed which translates to range and good ball skills at the high point. Physical player so he checks all the boxes we look for at the safety position minus the experience playing the positionive already scanned twitter and couldnt find much at all lol
Stephens may be great - and he may turn out great
but I'd be way more hyped if we'd drafted Johnson or Washington - that's probably a me problem rather than a ravens problem but it still leaves me underwhelmed
but that being said, a lot of teams seem to have been taking "weird" guys this year - probably the weird nature of the draft and the year massively impacting everything
but im very happy we got Bateman

if i were to self-assess my own attitude towards the draft, i think it's very telling that i'd feel completely differently about this draft class if i liked the stephens pick - Bateman for me was a home run, Oweh i could go either way on but feel pretty positive about him (the ceiling is immense), Cleveland also felt like maybe a bit too early but he was a great fit, but stephens i have/had no info on so it's hard to feel positive about him
and because of the stephens pick, it's made me a lot more nervous about cleveland and oweh
I get that and that's actually extremely reasonable rationale. However, I think Oweh and Cleveland are actually much safer picks than we may be thinking. Oweh can set the edge better than fucking Ferguson. We were dangerously close to trotting him out there. And he's going to get to learn how to become a refined pass rusher. No matter what though, that guy is fast as fuck with good effort. HE WILL MAKE PLAYS.
Cleveland literally gave up a total of 3 pressures and 1 sack his entire career. He's a mammoth and mean. Dont think it was too early at all. We've got a good eye for OLine and we WANTED him. I think he's gonna be stellar to be honest with you. Especially as a space filler between Stanley and Bozeman.
Stephens, we were thinking ST ace with no more Chris Moore and let's groom this athletic freak to be the FS we desperately need depth for. Hes coachable and already has some production. This was not a position we needed this year, high upside potential bust, regardless we needed depth. If we and supposedly other teams liked him, I'm happy to have him as a back of the roster guy.
it's probably more that there were guys i liked more who were available and im just sour still lol
if we get guys i really like in the 4th, my mood of the entire draft probably changes instantly just like it did the moment we drafted Justin Madubuike last year...
Not sure I get what you’re implying here lol, I’m not too thrilled with the pick, really not thrilled with our draft outside of Bateman. I was taking a wait and see approach after we took oweh, and after waiting and seeing the third round, I’m not loving our direction.I just cannot wait for Flex to tell us how much he's going to succeed because he's an absolute dog and the worst case scenario is him becoming Malcolm Jenkins
Yeah that was silky smooth like a mfi was more impressed with that initial read to let the inside guy go and get in phase without peaking at the outside WR behind him
