Just watched some of Bell’s 2020 highlights and he is certainly slower than he used to be when in his prime with the Steelers . I think Murray would be great if we can monetarily get it done .

What's interesting is that we've brought in Bell before any PS STers. Doesn't mean we won't bring one in as well, but Bell comes in first. I hope they see something at least a little exciting in him! Really interested to see if there is mutual interest in Murray.

Going to be a lot of roster shuffling in the next few days...

Bell to the PS means we have one too many vets. Could someone like Levine be promoted when Hill goes on IR?

Tried out a bunch of other guys as well. Cannon likely to be added and who knows who else. Gray, Verity, Townsend all seem at risk there.

Also very curious to see how Bell's running style fits in here. For a team that prides itself on hitting the hole fast, the patient running style is an odd fit. But we also know that patient style isn't really a fit for any team but that's how he's made his money.

Regardless, if/when he gets the call, the real value will be in the passing game.

Indeed , the passing game is where Bell could still shine

hes on the PS so can’t be expecting much tbh (at least initially)

feels like a slightly more talented but more personality-wise risky version of the dez bryant situation last year

I mean the only reason he is on the practice squad is because the Ravens do not want to guarantee his salary playing him game 1. I would be very surprised if he were not elevated by week 2 aka the important game.

I think we’re probably gonna run a bit more zone concept stuff this year and bell thrives on inside zone type stuff

but yeah passing game and play-action is where he can add value here

2 options to make room for bell: either Levine or ellis get elevated to the 53 or Andre smith gets canned from the PS

But some of the PS guys I’m assuming were just placeholders because testing protocols and playbook are important during covid

Yeah we're gonna see some wholesale changes in the next week or two if you had to ask me. Also an odd year where we didn't have a ton of PS candidates come cut down day.

I think Tyson Williams would have to look pretty bad for The Ravens to consider Latavius Murray. Murray isn't really all that different of a back from Gus Edwards other than probably being faster. He has some skills as a receiver but I don't think he's a guy The Ravens are looking for.

So I think we know some decisions will be made for us in time, but we're going to have some really tough decisions to make with the 53 if everyone remains healthy.

Assuming Cannon to the 53 for this week (which sounds like the case), you'd have Bell, Bateman, and Levine all essentially needing to be added in the next 3-4 weeks. Ellis and Boykin potentially as well, but I think Boykin might hang on IR until/unless we need him.
