Jeremy Fowler said multiple teams see Project Pat as a "hybrid tight end" and said a team could try and lure him for a bigger receiving role. Why the hell can't we be that team?
because as much as i love pat - i dont want to pay more than 4m/yr for a glorified fullback - he's great but also if a team's gonna give him juice type money or more (TE money) then id rather spend that elsewhere and continue to evolve this offence

we're already paying 14.5m/yr for andrews and 6.5m/yr for boyle and were paying pat just under 4m/yr - if he wants the 5.5 that juice is getting (or more) then i think we have to move on

however what i will say is that seems very much like agent talk attempting to inflate his pricetag a little - it's hard to imagine ricard having more value elsewhere

1. It would drive his price tag higher, and we're not in the market of paying high $ to a fringe TE or even a stud FB.
2. On a team where I think a lot of people would prefer we start using more 3-4 WR looks and less double TE looks, I'm not sure having a hybrid TE in the offense is really that beneficial.

if the team is confident in boyle's health, that may well impact how valuable he is to the ravens too

Lack of foresight is the first thing that popped to my head.

What did I walk into here? I feel like I came out of hibernation and emerged into a Mad Max world.
I hope we improve our OL & Edge or CB on defense. I'm not sure we can fix all 3 in one offseason TBH.
There is no need to fix CB if they simply don’t cut anyone.

After deliberation with Brother @JAAM , this is our #SIIE list 1.0.

Free agents - Jensen, Mathieu (right price, of course)

Prospects - Walker, JJ, Linderbaum, Sauce (long shot)

pretty nice list - love the free agents albeit i think it's probably unlikely to get both - I fear mathieu's gonna be hella expensive when he hits the open market but we can dream (that's what this is for lol)

im with you on 3 of the 4 prospects - i cant get behind linderbaum though... for me it's almost a perfect list if you replace him with stingley

Is is true that Stingley has issues with tackling/run support?

Is is true that Stingley has issues with tackling/run support?

From my draft notes on Stingley:

"Willing tackler but very hit-or-miss with his technique – spottier effort than you’d want especially in 2020 and 2021 – flashed decent take-on technique and physicality vs blocks on the outside and not making business decisions in the tackle area but sometimes content to let team-mates get there first"

He's not consistent as a tackler but I wouldn't say he's notably much worse than any of the other top guys - and you do have to wonder a little if some of the spottier effort situations were business decisions partly based in his nagging injury issues in 2020 and 2021

He's not the consistently good tackler that mcduffie is and he's not the consistently aggressive and vigorous andrew booth - but he's also not a shrinking violet

I see. Who's rated higher on your board given our draft spot: Stingley or Sauce?

Everyone can blame me for the Linderbaum #SIIE

I’ve got stingley higher but I’ll fully admit that that’s seemingly a rare opinion at the moment around the media and the league etc

That’s not to say I don’t also think sauce is a great prospect - they both have very high grades from me - but stingley just has some elite traits that I value incredibly highly

For some perspective - if you took away stingley’s injury concerns there’s a chance he’d be my number 1 graded prospect

Same question goes for you, @JoeyFlex5 .
It’s tough, if not for the lisfranc I think I’d have stingley higher, but I’ve been really high on Gardner for a very long time.

If we were dead set on drafting corner and both were available my gut says Gardner, I do think he’s cb1, but stingley has the highest ceiling I’ve ever seen for a corner.

Bobby Wagner has been released by the Seahawks in a shocking development. Apparently Tyler Lockett also can be had in a trade, Seattle blowing everything up apparently. How would Wagner fit with our defense? This for some reason screams a Ravens move we would make.

Edit: Guess Jimmy's Seafood is doing their part.

As much as I’d love Wagner here, he’s gonna have a fatter price tag than I’m willing to pay for a ILB. Take that money and throw it at ZDS or Jensen instead

I think if we were able to add Jensen or Wagner (or in a dreamworld both) then that would be an instantly successful free agency period

ZDS would be cool to add but I’m not sure I want to pay what he’ll cost to bring him back - not with the quality youth prospects in this class and with the possibility of bringing back someone like Justin Houston to the group

Atleast Stingley's lisfranc happened earlier in the college season vs Hollywood. Certainly seems like he could be ready to run by his pro day and absolutely workout during the offseason after the draft. If he didn't have the injury we would have absolutely no chance to get him and I don't think he slips by the Vikings anyway.
