I mean Miller just got $20M and Jones got $17M. Z got $8.75M. I can see why he thinks he has more value but it's also his fault for not seeing what happened in that market first.
I mean Spotrac has his market value at 16.7m per year and he signed for 12.5 so presumably closer to his market value.

Looking at the edge group remaining and excluding ZDS because at this point that prospect looks completely dead and buried:
Jadeveon Clowney stands out as the only big figure left on the market but he's also for a few years now decided to take his time and take 1 year deals and i doubt the ravens are gonna be into a 1 year deal - that being said we've shown dramatic interest in him before with the purported sign and trade scheme we were gonna do with the jags before it got nixed
otherwise we're looking at older vet guys like
Melvin Ingram
Jerry Hughes
Justin Houston (return)
or younger but riskier/lower octane guys like
Derek Barnett
Arden Key
i dont love that list - mostly because outside of clowney none of them offer that interior rush versatility which creates so many opportunities with the rest of the offseason

Sounds like he doesn't believe in himself and wants to secure a nice bag just in case his back acts up again. I'm ok with this, EDC ain't about to do some dumbarse redskin Haynesworth deal. Buf needs to win this year and if not then that's alot of dead money.

tbf also it's not surprising - like no one thought even before those deals that sub-9m was anything other than a ravens steal
dude's just coming off a 16m/yr deal with the packers and spent 2 years dominating the league and he's not even hit 30 yet... like i get that those deals probably shocked him back to reality but i dont really see how the vast difference could have been that surprising...

Would guess he probably panicked in a slow market and saw a multi-year offer on the table and said yes. Because I genuinely believe a lot of what's left are going to be looking for or forced to take 1 year deals.
