The Ugly, the Ugly, and the Downright Atrocious: Week 7 Edition

Love the optimism and somewhat agree with your point about the coaching staff. I have to say though those guys will need to be freaking magicians to get to 9 and 6 with this depleted rag tag roster.
I honestly I can see us dropping the Texans and Lions game at home, just because there's always going to be an important game that this needs to win that they will drop, and I think one of those games will be losses.

Latavius Murray deserves credit for running with serious burst throughout the entire afternoon. That being said, our run defense on the second and especially third levels has been outright abysmal over the past few weeks.

Even Jesus can't help this current unit. Maclin, Stanley, and Yanda, and Jensen can stay.. Everyone else needs to gtfo. Except Flacco who we kind of have to keep.
I would like to see us keep Maclin, I know he have durability issues but he can still play IMO. It sucks that we're going to part ways with Mike Wallace because I really like him.

Well his contract is completely my to an end anyway.

Going to be a very interesting off-season next year.
Is it? We have no cap space from terrible contracts, so unless we cut some people coming at the cost of dead money, we won't be able to make to many moves.

I guess in that way it will be an interesting offseason.

I think we're going to move some moves and get some cap hits down. After that I also think we're going to have help from $10M cap increase. We're going to be tight but I definitely think we're going to make some moves.

Well, no room for "the good" here, but I have to add one ... Tucker. The End

The ugly - how the D is letting up stellar days for the opponent's lead back. I get it - the D wears down, but that's not the whole story. Were they worn out when the let up a 40 yard run to open the 2nd half?

The ugly - The injury situation - for us and for the entire league. No receivers left? That's a problem to state the obvious. I'm starting to get worried about the future viability of this game

The downright atrocious - 2 straight games without (a meaningful) TD out of our offense. Yes, we have injuries, but we still shoot ourselves in the foot. Stall your own drives by fumbling snap, slipping on a drop back, etc, etc, etc. The offense says they are making no excuses - which in and of itself sounds like it is making an excuse. I'm done with the excuses. I'm not expecting this unit to post of 30 point games, but please? What were seeing is abysmal.

Just deciding on what to do with the 20 guys that will be coming off of IR will make it interesting. lol

Well - I don't think the poster was saying that as if we're going to be big players on the FA market. What will indeed be interested is to see just how massive the bloodletting is going to be.

If we continue this level of play en route to a 5-11 or 6-10 season, we could be looking at an overhaul the likes of which we've not seem before on this team. You will see the end of Harbaugh. You will likely see the move made to draft QB - quite possibly in the 1st round - with Flacco becoming a lame duck.- only being retained because of his contract and so that we don't need to rush our young QB. On top of it all - you may see the stepping down of our long time GM.

So, yes, that will indeed be an interesting off-season.

Agreed on all counts

Indeed, we kind of have to keep Joe. But unless something changes dramatically, we will draft his replacement and he will be a lame duck with one year to show the rest of the league whether or not he has any value to be picked up after we release him or if he really doesn't care anymore and is ready to ride off into the sunset.

How do you think joe played today
Uneven. I thought he progressively got more and more urgent like he was trying to do too much.

I thought today was a bad day if things are normal circumstances, but things weren't. How do you lose something like five pass catchers and a running back and expect to do well? You don't and I can't hold it against Joe when his top guy is Griff Whalen.
