Y’all are talking small potatoes with slayton and fuller. I think the ravens are forreal gonna fuck around pull off a dk or Deebo or terry.
I didn’t think we would’ve before with Hollywood, but now, for one the balls to do that, two the space its cleared, and three the new hole on the roster. The situation has changed so much that it’s very justifiable. Man I’m down with one of these, dk or terry would be seriously a huge deal and if those guys are actually on the table it seems doable
I don't think he's going to be willing to pay the extension $ they seek. Talking $20M minimum for any of them, and likely $25M.
Trading for Hopkins is different from trading for these three.
If there's a receiver trade, I expect it to be for a veteran at a cheaper rate. Maybe not super cheap, but cheaper.
As far as individual players, only one that makes any sense is DK. Pretty clear the 49ers don't want to trade Deebo, based on the offers the Jets gave them that they declined (highly doubt we'll pay more than that in terms of draft comp), and I've seen nothing to suggest McLaurin is even on the trade block. Think that's an easy extension for the Commanders all day long.
DK is possible, but again, don't really see why Seattle wants to deal. They're a QB away from no longer being a "rebuild" team, and they'll almost certainly get a good one next year. You can do a lot worse as a rookie QB than getting DK and Lockett to throw to.
In terms of cap space, not having Hollywood next year is something, but it's not super significant. Assuming there's no Lamar extension, he's going to cost at least $10M more next year than this year, which is most of what Hollywood was going to cost on a 5th year option. By the time you franchise Lamar and extend Peters, you'll be under $20M in cap space most likely.
That's not a small amount, but it ain't a big amount either.
Also fun fact as I look ahead... the 2023 FA class for the Ravens is largely insignificant. It's Lamar and Peters, of which I would expect both to be back. The rest is almost entirely depth players that probably could be retained for cheap. So will likely get a 2nd straight year of heavy FA activity, due to the lack of comp picks available (frankly, I don't see any).
