2023 General Draft Thoughts

For some positions of need:

Emil Ekiyor: Looks like an absolute beast at guard. Would be a big upgrade at LG.
Trenton Simpson: Lighter, leaner LB built in a similar mold as Queen, but I think he shows better instincts in coverage. Would let us have multiple ILBs capable of covering and chasing down plays from behind.
Dontay Demus: Big, fast, and just firey as hell. I legit think he could be something special, and fits the Ravens' attitude perfectly.

I was pounding the table for Emil ekiyor up until he pulled out of the class. Think he’s gonna end up a first round G with his return to school, he’s too excellent a prospect to put out another year of tape and still go on day 2.

no question he has huge upside, I just don't see us going guard in the first round next year.

ekiyor was already on my radar because i thought he might come out this year but i think he made a good decision to go back - especially looking at where jamaree salyer ended up going

Depends on the board. A lot of boards I've seen so far have the end of the first as a dead zone for things the Ravens general need. Could get the second or third best guard in that spot or like the 5th CB or reach on the next tier of DTs. Obviously though a ton can change between now and next season.

and a bunch will change by then. I'd be surprised if it didn't.

How do y’all feel about Jordan Addison? Excellent release, good body control to work the catch point, great vertical route work, but very undersized and speed doesn’t really pop on film so that’s a concern. I see a lot of Calvin Ridley comps and I absolutely see it on film but I think Ridley looked a good bit more explosive than Addison.

Listen closely to the first verse in that video…

WHY THEY COMING AT JOES NECK LIKE THAT

Practice Squad

edge class looks like it might have some high-end talent at the top too

Perfect timing if this is the year that Calais retires...

Other things I've noticed =>
* There are an insane number of projected slot-only WR, may help devalue them a bit
* QB class looks a lot healthier this year, should help push some guys at other positions down
* OT looks very thin at the top (let's hope Ronnie is okay)

One CB that stands out to be is Kris Abrams-Draine from Missouri. He fits the aggressive style the Ravens look for in DBs, and is great at going for the ball in the air.

Time to move on from Queen and Harrison. With Bynes aging and no ILB prospects on the team aside from Josh Ross I think we look at ILB early. My guy right now is Daiyan Henley from Wash St. Has played multiple offensive positions prior to ILB and right now looks like he can effectively read an offense and passing schemes which we have been desperately missing.

The 2023 running back class is freaking stacked. Bijan, Gibbs, Corum, Bigsby just to name a few. I definitely see us drafting one to pair with JK.

More than anything the Ravens badly need a stud on the d-line. A MLB would be good too, but isn't quite as pressing.
