Ravens Ring of Honor
For the profanity, that's not my responsibility. You can complain about inconsistent application of rules all you want. Its totally meaningless. Gigantic waste of your own time (if you value that). You can go back and pull the posts from the mods that banned you, and they were clear as to why.Wait a minute. I was banned for "using profanity"? Please .. have you seen the way others talk there. While I might occasionally use a profane word, at no time did I ever use excessive profanity, or beyond what others use on a daily basis. If you say otherwise, I say show your proof.
1.) AND, you can call the comparison between Tomlin and Lewis a stretch, but if you are going to do so, be sure to support your assertion with facts.
2.) You think letting Bell and Ju Ju was a good thing? I think the vast majority of Steeler nation would strongly disagree (and I'm talking the real steeler nation, not the sock puppets that are being manipulated by the woke left on that forum).
3.) Minkah's stats weren't overly impressive last season. That's a fact. I would not have paid what the Steelers did for him. If you consider that "trolling", you may just have a problem with a difference of opinion, dncjacket.
4.) Colin Cowherd is a respected media personality. I never said he's respected "based on the fact that he has a 2nd house on the beach". If you say otherwise, once again, I say show your proof. Just because you don't care for Cowherd doesn't make my opinion a troll comment.
I'm not sure about some of you guys but it seems obvious to me that someone ^ is modeling their attack campaign after a twisted democrat running for office. Go figure ..
The profanity was merely part of the problem, as there was an entire thread from the admin telling everybody, not just you, to stop using profanity and to stop circumventing the admin rules by using the old **** thing.
End of day, they're basically making their platform a for-profit business. That's priority #1 for them. Priority #1 is not yours or anybody else's free speech, ability to complain about liberals, etc. They want the ad revenue, and they're going to ban people that decrease that ability.
Ultimately, you were more likely to get banned from several of the references to other users moms sucking your dick. Never going to fly on an online platform trying to make money. Even Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. try to prevent such things.
In terms of the football takes:
1. I didn't really see you provide anything "factual" in terms of Tomlin vs Lewis, but since you're clearly a "stats" guy, try just looking up the W/L record differences between the two, and especially, the postseason success. Tomlin has a 64% win % in the regular season, as well as having never had a losing season in 15 years. Marvin Lewis has a 52% win % in the regular season, had 6 losing seasons in 16 years, including his last three.
And obviously, I don't need to explain the playoff differences.
Feel free to poke holes in that all day long, but it'll be qualitative/opinion statements, not factual one's. There's very little factual info when comparing two coaches. All you have is W/L and playoff success. Everything else is subjective.
But there's a reason why one guy has a job right now and another has been out of the league for 5 years, with no HC gig in site.
If Tomlin got fired today, he'd get hired tomorrow by somebody. He'd have a job in this league as long as he wanted one.
And many of the members here would tell you... one thing about me, I tell fans to get out of the "opinion" business. NFL teams aren't perfect, but they've got a pretty good track record of telling you who's good and who's not. So when NFL teams keep Tomlin around much longer than Lewis, that should tell you something.
2. What's impressive, at all, about Bell? Like there's literally nothing he does well. His decline was pretty evident the last year he was in Pittsburgh. YPC dropped almost a full yard from 2016 to 2017 (went from 4.9 to 4.0), his yards/reception dropped 0.5 yards in the same time period, and he really doesn't score a lot of TDs for a guy who touches the ball so much.
In 2017, he was the textbook definition of a volume-dependent RB. Low YPC by any standard, but puts up big stats because he got over 400 touches. If you gave literally any RB in the NFL 400 touches, they'll get you, minimum, 1,500 total yards.
With the Jets in 2019, his usage rate declined, and not surprisingly, so did his efficiency. 3.2 YPC in NY in 2019, 7.0 Yards/reception, lower than the prior two years. A whopping 4 TDs on over 300 touches. That's pathetic.
After that, he's just a plodder with no real value. He's been completely useless the last two years.
Smartest thing the Steelers ever did was not paying Bell what the Jets paid him. The only way he would have looked good is if you gave him the ball 400 times, and even then, the wall he was hitting was so blatantly obvious to everybody except for the Jets.
As for JuJu, he's just an average receiver in this league, who's been putting up average stats for several years now, and you have at least two receivers on your team already who are better.
I'm sure a lot of Steelers fans weren't happy about it. There's also a lot of Steelers fans that are morons. That's not surprising to anybody.
3. Minkah is a Safety. Pretty much no Safety is really going to have impressive "stats". What "stats" are you looking for? Interceptions? Tackles? Explain why you think those metrics are valid.
4. Yes, he's a respected media personality. How does that correlate with him knowing anything about literally any sport? Do you know anybody who listens to Cowherd to become more educated about any sport? He's a respected media personality because he knows how to get an audience to listen to them, he knows how to market himself, and he knows when to say outlandish things to get people to watch his show, so he can make more money. Same as Skip Bayless. Same as Stephen A. Smith. Same as basically any other media personality. They're not paid to be smart.
Him being rich or having a nice house doesn't correlate at all with his knowledge of any sport. He's a multi-million dollar sports media personality on one of the biggest sports networks in the world, yet he'll be one of the first people to tell you he doesn't know that much at all about MLB, NHL, College Basketball, Golf, or basically any sport that isn't the NBA or NFL.
So if I wanted Hockey analysis, should I go to him just because he's a "well respected media personality"? He's in the business of getting people to talk about him. That means he'll intentionally say things stupid just so people will do that.
