Maybe they want to set him with incentives (not sure whether he has any of active roster type) as a thank you before a farewell?
most incentives if there are any are gonna be based on snap percentages

I don't think he'll be playing much this year. And the contract is a negative to us this year. So we'll be using that roster flexibility and keeping him around for the season essentially. Think they're fearful of shelving him for injury settlement/cut reasons after the season. Going to need every little bit we can get and can't have his cap hit sitting there on hold due to health reasons.Maybe this is the slow ramp up? He better get going quick because you cant in good faith add Kolar to this tightened group without making a subtraction
bateman's got that elite release package already - andrews is the 1st read and comes open so lamar's always gonna take that higher percentage throw earlier in the progression (especially with a 4th string LT), but he and bateman are gonna score a bunch of big plays on go balls this year - i really want to see how bateman got open on the deep shot that lamar overthrew by a couple of inches (spencer and cole seem to get the all-22 earlier than everyone else so ill have to wait for either one of them to clip it or until tomorrow when the coaches film will likely be released to the rest of us commoners lol)
Imo, lamar read shouldve been bateman first regardless or atleast take a glance while andrews route develop.he was locked in on andrews already and thats only reason why he didnt hit bateman. Lamar has seen bateman beat hump many times in press during practice so i feel like he should know whats up.. wont be surprised though if we take that shot vs bills
I keep forgetting we literally can't cut him. So what, he just rides the inactives all year?I don't think he'll be playing much this year. And the contract is a negative to us this year. Probably. An is what it is type of situation. Worked his ass off to get back but you can tell it’s just not there for him.I keep forgetting we literally can't cut him. So what, he just rides the inactives all year?
Yea but lamar didnt see it at all.. the andrews crosser is his fav so im sure its always gonna be his first choice.. to me, pre snap still says bateman will be open vs that cb.. only way it isnt open is if that S rolls over there and immediately as the ball was hiked, you can see the S didnt.. he waited for that andrews route while the bateman route was open well before. Love lamar but i can guarantee you any other top qb wouldve hit bateman there.i get that - but based on the leverage and the coverage he knows he's got an easy big play to andrews - he's not turning that down for a deep shot on the outside - if we're running some other combination and the choice is some shorter throw vs taking a shot to bateman then i think you do see him unload that ball and be aggressive
but not gonna turn down an easy 25 yd gain for a much lower percentage deep bomb in that game scenario in the 4th quarter
if andrews wasnt obviously going to be open pre-snap, then lamar probably does check the go-route and maybe throws it - but everything pre-snap told lamar he had an easy 25 yds... no reason to turn that down
Yeah I saw him on the last snap and wondered how many snaps he had. Noticed him earlier in the game on the replay.Very concerning with Nick Boyle - he was active, he played 4 total snaps, 3 were the kneel downs to end the game
That fumble has gotta play in his mind tooi get that - but based on the leverage and the coverage he knows he's got an easy big play to andrews - he's not turning that down for a deep shot on the outside - if we're running some other combination and the choice is some shorter throw vs taking a shot to bateman then i think you do see him unload that ball and be aggressive

I guess through 3 weeks Hamilton is the highest pff defender? I think a lot of that has to do with probably playing less snaps than the other guys and also maybe not being dinged for Miami? Idk. Either way it's encouraging to see.

Lamar isnt looking because he is unaware and is locked in on andrews like usual. If that lb, S or whoever that was wouldve dropped back a little deeper into cvg, lamar wouldve settled for the delay route..Him hitting andrews worked out well but i just think he shouldve hit bateman.I wont be surprised if we see this play again and he hits bateman next time. i only say all this because this is something lamar has done oftenBateman’s not open pre-snap - you back him to win the 1v1 but he does still have to win
Andrews is open purely by the formation and the leverage - that’s why Lamar’s not looking

I'm sure part of the problem with him going to Andrews was Faalele in at left tackle.Yea but lamar didnt see it at all.. the andrews crosser is his fav so im sure its always gonna be his first choice.. to me, pre snap still says bateman will be open vs that cb.. only way it isnt open is if that S rolls over there and immediately as the ball was hiked, you can see the S didnt.. he waited for that andrews route while the bateman route was open well before. I don't think so, Lamar doesn't play that way. He kept coming right back at Hollywood in the Detroit game and a year earlier, the TD pass to Hollywood vs the Browns after taking a shitter. That fumble has gotta play in his mind too

Do you like this board? You should know by now that Lamar can do no wrong here
we have all seen him stare down routes before. All QBs do this, but I don't think this happened on this play, due to the extenuating circumstances. You should know by now that Lamar can do no wrong here
