The DL, The Lamar and Another Blown Lead

I LOVE Marcus Williams. I think he's elite at his position. But look at Geno Stone. I get it, it was 1 game sample size against Daniel Jones, but did anyone actually notice a difference? No because S is not one of the most impactful positions most of the time.

On the other hand Zadarius Smith already has 5.5 sacks this season. Imagine if we didn't low ball the absolute shit out of him and actually paid him what a pass rusher is worth.

I guarantee you this team is substantially better with Zadarius Smith compared to Marcus Williams unfortunately. I am no fan whatsoever of building from the back in. ESPECIALLY when the middle is complete garbage.
Naw I like the Marcus Williams move. Just wish we had the money to pay Za'Darius. We needed play making on the back end and Williams has prevented tons of big plays on top of that. He's been a stud and he's still very young.

I'm not saying it was a bad move. Just imo a worse move than Zadrius.

I think it was a better move, easy to say that now that he's injured. Also, safety is a very important position. See the 2014 Ravens if you think otherwise. Not to mention Ed Reed blessed us for 10 seasons here, we should know better then anyone what having a safety who can make plays all over the field does for us.

Something is going on internally. Those guys look weird out there.

Doesn’t doesn’t excuse piss poor execution on the offensive end

It has nothing at all to do with him being injured. That's out of his control. But also that has allowed to see Geno in full game and he was fine so far.

Yes Ed was great, of course he was. But Ed is not like Marcus Williams. Williams is in the top 10 safeties like this year. Ed was probably the greatest safety of all time so not sure that's really even close to a fair comparison.

S is important objectively. But at the same time I'm fairly confident in saying unbiasedly that pass rusher is more important. Look at the winningest teams. All have elite pass rushers, not necessarily elite safeties.

Trade Lamar Jackson after this season . He is simply too inconsistent.
Is he a very good player ? Yes .

But for the money he is asking it is not worth keeping him and tanking the money the Ravens have to play with .

I have never felt this way about Lamar before but I see too many inconsistencies.
They give LJ the season to show he is worth that outlay. To this point career wise, its a risky bet for a lot of reasons. The pick and fumble didn't help. Raven D is not the D of old, but you got to trust them. That is true of LJ and Harbaugh. Don't take the game out of the D's hands.

Crazy right

Just seen one who joined before the Bengals game. Not one post did I see in the game thread or after the win but have something to say now.

Now let’s not be rude to our new members. We were all once new ourselves and probably lurked around a bit after joining. Give them their chance. If they end up being trolls, they’ll get kicked

If it makes you guys feel better, Patrick Mahomes had two "WTF" throws today that were picked off today. The first one looked similar to the one Lamar had against Buffalo.

Is eagles offense so stacked that Jalen looks so much more poised and in control of his offense than Lamar? Or is it coaching and scheme?

I refuse to believe Jalen is better than Lamar. But he looking nice

Oh, that team is stacked-stacked. It was called the most talented roster outside of QB leading up to the season.
Team is loaded with talent everywhere. All he has to do is not fuck up. And coaching is doing a great job. I wonder what that's like...

And Jalen isn't better.

Not really a comparison, just saying how much of a difference it makes to have a guy who can make plays and cover. Likewise with Kevin Byard. Saints fans right now are literally complaining about the team not keeping Marcus Williams; look at the type of game Tyrann had to today.

Of course safety isn't more important than pass rusher, but in Za'Darius case, Minnesota has Danielle Hunter on the other side. It's easier to eat when you have an elite pass rusher opposite of you. We don't have anyone comparable to Danielle here.

Look how quick they get outta the huddle and into the play. Meanwhile, we take up 20 seconds for Greg’s long ass play calls and spend the remaining 3-5 seconds for presnap motions. Defense fully rested by then or delay of game. Sigh I’m getting jealous lol
