Another real head scratcher incoming. Kenyan Drake makes a really interesting point. Week one we played in NJ and the run game was utter shit. Then in week 6 back in that same game against another good defense the run game was actually dominant. Now his point was look at how we've been able to improve the run game so dramatically, we'll put it all together! Nice little positive spin.
Now here's the interesting part. (See these plots I made for you) There is truly no correlation between the quality of the run game and whether we win. Additionally, there is no correlation between the quality of the running game and number of points scored. In fact if you look theres a negative correlation between non-Lamar rushing yards and points scored. However, there is a positive correlation between Lamar's rushing yards and points scored. Unfortunately, those Lamar rushing yards are not indicative of winning though so far this year.
