Signings, Cuts, Trades

I think the whole world is sleeping on Proche. I believe he'll prove to be invaluable to our receiving corps down the stretch. He has sure hands, is elusive, and runs good routes. He is going to excel without Bateman and the snaps available to him.

In a league with a cap, teams have to make some calculated gambles when building the roster. I see the Raven WRs as such a gamble. And since it is a position with wild contract-inflation the last few years, it is a gamble with a massive upside if the dice falls your way.
Right now it look like they won't do that, but I respect the choice. If Bateman stayed healthy and the youngsters would have combined for 5 catches a game (which was not unreasonable), EDC wins big by being able to sign M Williams instead of the same money for a high-end WR2.
We may still win this gamble, even if it right now doesn't look awesome for the pass offense

The play style is different but a case can be made that if they don't perform the team will most likely lose. The regular season success and lack of post season success is what I think draws the comparisons.

The team isn't good enough for him to Joe Flacco his way to a couple wins in the playoffs.

I mean is that true though? Realistically on the defensive side the Ravens are certainly that talented (and seem to be putting it together) with 3 first team all pro players in their prime on it and multiple pro bowl players as well as young talent that looks really good. Meanwhile on the offensive side you still have an all pro LT, an all pro TE, a very good G and RT, and young rookie C who seems to be getting better every week. That is ignoring that your 2nd TE also seems to be able to go off as well. This team has talent at almost every position right now that puts it right up there with the best of the NFL, but it now comes down to how the ball bounces.

Fair point but then again Peyton only won one ring in Indy and that was due to his defense finally showing up and absolutely shutting teams down. Seems like Peyton just kept on trucking and the perfect storm finally came along in 06, which is PRECISELY what we and every other contending team is aiming to do lol.

Idk where this idea came from that you need to just buy yourself playoff wins by shipping out all of your draft picks for high dollar trade targets, and any other method just means your gm is an incompetent pussy
I have no idea how Peyton could continually perform so poorly in the playoffs. They dominated the regular season. That man was awful and like you said , got two championships based on defensive play. Although that comeback Vs NE was pretty impressive.

I'd rather be there and lose, than not be there at all.
Yep, something we take for granted. I can think of plenty of fan bases who would gladly change positions with us. But i get his point, the lack of playoff success is definitely getting frustrating.

Honestly think we’re about to find out with Bateman and possibly Andrews out.

I don’t care about a MNF game Vs an NFC opponent . If Andrews is on the fringe for playing, rest him for gods sake.

He did go to that wrestling thing with Lamar. Maybe he’s trying to build that chemistry. I picked him up in dynasty just in case lolol

If Andrews don’t play, Josh Oliver gets plugged into that role right? Can’t imagine it’ll be likely

Peyton had plenty of playoff moments too but that doesn’t equal wins. Football is just much harder in the playoffs for basically anyone not named brady, Eli, Ben, or…. Flacco lmfao

is it frustrating. Absolutely agree with him on that, but it's not the end all be all and not a reason to fire a coach either.

2013 was much, much worse as we’re other years.
There it is.

2013, also, was one of the most pathetic years we've seen from Joe individually. I'm not sure if you're making the point you want because Joe performed pretty poorly, sans 2014, post Super Bowl.

Just to expand: I think the point Tank is trying and failing to make is that Joe had bad teams around him at times and he played just fine... except, Joe generally played like ass after 2012, which obviously peaked in 2018 when a rookie who struggled to pass outside the numbers took over the team and turned around the season for the Ravens.

As a whole, I'd take what Lamar has on the line over what Joe had on average, but it isn't a massive difference. I think Joe generally had better lines than given credit for. As a whole, I'd probably take the weapons Joe had with Bateman now out.

Despite all that, Lamar is having a season that, all things willing, will be comparable at worst to Joe's 2014, the best year of Joe's career and a year where I'd 100% take that supporting cast over what the Ravens have going on now.

The offense has been the priority in the draft since Lamar took over. We’ve just not done a great job with it. Also just bad luck , Hollywood was injured his sophomore and senior year of college, i think he missed one game for the Ravens? Bateman was healthy through out college, can’t stay on the field. Weird the way it works out sometimes
