2018 Secondary

I wouldve been good with us even choosin hooker if got the chance. Hargraves is from my city. Seen him play in highschool and everything.. hump is fine, he just isnt an immediate starter and has a few things to fix before i put any faith in him. We gonna need a FS soon also.

Hooker was my favorite in the draft. And I think will be the best player from this draft. I would trade Humph and Bowser for Hooker in .03!! Better yet trade Humph and Worthless Wormley for Hooker in .03 seconds!!

Hooker does have a certain something that would make him fit in with the Ravens this year that Humph, Bowser, and Wormley just do not have and that is that he is on IR and those 3 are not.

i forgot that wormley was even on our team. So far our rookies arent making a big enough impact

All the poor drafting killed the falcons for several yrs. Falcons wasted far more draft picks than it gave up for a game changing WR. Who did the picks turn into that were traded away?? When falcons new gm straightened out its drafting the falcons won. And Julio was a key player in their turnaround
Not much, they were traded to Cleveland :)

I wonder what made it so that they could sort out their drafting? Oh right it was the fact that they finally had all their picks back and suddenly had higher picks and more chances at bringing in good players - they picked up busts because the draft is a crapshoot and you need as many chances as possible to get good players unless you are lucky as hell

Busts puts you in an awful spot for future. What happens if all the picks u keep are busts??

It’s about chance - the more picks you have and particularly those of a higher value are naturally going to give you more chances at playmakers and good players which that trade for Julio deprived them of

So as opposed to 10-12 busts. A couple more swings and strikeout artists would connect?? Cuz draft picks have done so much good for Cleveland and ravens of late. That if you took a couple away the Browns and ravens would be worse. You act as if Falcons have nothing to show for it. Falcons have one of best WRs in the league to show for it. As opposed to a couple useful players and a couple of busts. How often has a team picked a bust in rounds 1 and 2?? That alone accounts for what falcons gave up for Julio.

I agree! Falcons trade for julio wasnt all that bad neither. Lacks of drafts picks didnt set them back at all, bad management and scouting did.

Yes those loads of picks have turned into some great players for the ravens - you telling me hoarding those 4th round picks in 2016 didn’t work out?

And yes they may have ended up drafting busts in stead of Julio but the chances are pretty good that those 2nd and 1st round picks turn into good-great players too

And as great as Julio is it’s amazing that atlanta’s Offence didn’t look great like him until they brought in good complementary receivers and a great offensive mind

It’s not like those guys they brought in needed to be great players and yet they made that enormous difference to that team - in some ways you could argue they made a bigger difference than julio

Yeah, we should just trade away all of our picks every year for a "better" player. Who needs a team when you can get that one "guaranteed" superstar?

I'm just glad that the Falcons traded away all of those picks to the Browns and not to a different team in the AFC. A better team could have used all of those picks to start building a powerhouse.

They can also use every pick they have to draft a powerhouse. You can get a star player inany round.. wagner, sherman,kj wright, kam.

To get the better end the team with the picks would need to yield 2 superstar players to say that trade was bad. But it yielded not a single pro bowler. I get it. Your team doesn't have any difference makers so it is comforting to devalue what an elite player brings to a team. Ravens don't need any difference makers. Ravens are gonna run the table without them. Is that what u wanna believe??

Right. The only reason that not a single Pro-Bowler was drafted out of those picks is because we're talking about the Browns. You give those same picks to even a halfway-decent-running organization and I believe the results of this trade could swing in the other direction.

Where did I say that the Ravens don't need any difference makers? We absolutely need difference makers and it's currently one of our biggest problems that we don't have any at the skill positions. That, however, doesn't mean we should just throw away all of our picks to maybe get one of these superstars. If we were one or two pieces away then I would say to go for it, but this team has a lot of problems that need fixing (mostly on the offensive side of the ball). Mortgaging our future for one player, who may or may not live up to his potential, doesn't make a whole lot of sense for this team right now.

that's not how it works because those picks dont turn into the same players if the falcons are on the clock in stead... that's awful logic and not true
the way to judge that trade (from the falcon's angle) is how it ultimately affected the falcons not what the other team did with those picks

and lets look at what the falcons did as a team - they've mostly been out of contention with a couple of playoff experiences including last year's superbowl run but they haven't won a superbowl and havent had any continuous success year to year (in fact the entire NFC South very rarely seems to stay consistent year to year either) - julio jones won only one playoff game until last year with kyle shanahan at the offensive helm

and what is this idea that you cant get a star player without trading up? that's just false - you have a better chance of getting a star player the higher you pick but you'll notice every year there are high picks who suck and mid-lower round picks that are stars - and you know what gives you a better chance of getting one of those stars... more picks

Again what are the odds of a Julio jones caliber player with 10 picks even?? Quality over quantity. Would u prefer 100 fat chics or 1 Victoria Angel?? Your assuming every 1 of those picks becoming superstars much less a Julio jones. Jones is irreplaceable talent. Your not likely to get 1 player his caliber much less all of them. Look at 2013 2015. U wouldn't trade those drafts for a rare caliber player?? Difference makers like that rarely hit the market. U have to draft them if u want them. Like a qb

Actually one superstar is not as good as 4 or 5 good starters. It’s a team sport and one players can’t get much done without his teammates. No one is irreplaceable.
