The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Jags edition

Well it could be a huge distraction but I'll guess we shall see. I could see the chances of a small suspension increase (1 game) if the anti-gay
talk sticks.

A one game suspension would be the best case scenario if it gains traction

I’m a troll for having different beliefs and then apologizing for said beliefs when I’m proven wrong. Who are the real trolls in that case
I don't drive a damn about having different beliefs. But when you're constantly spouting bullshit with nothing to back it but more condescending or contradictory bullshit you don't have much ground to stand on. When you're challenged you give no meaningful insight into your thought process and keep just relaying what you think or try to make it out like you're the victim.

lol I don't even understand the leap to anti-gay, since women eat dick all the time. But I guess I'm not "woke" enough to be a part of the agenda...
I realize this but the news media is already creating a narrative that Lamar made an anti-gay slur comment. This is a problem.

Make sure you give him say $40m or so to make the experiment more realistic.

Lamar just needs to ignore that shit, he's got nothing to gain from it.
When do we get to the point where Sizzle is repeatedly hit by 230 lbs or more of muscle by his colleagues from competing businesses before the customer interactions take place?

Got to earn that money first.

This place becomes a cess pool in here every time we lose. I don't get it. What is everyone's fucking tunnel vision on one thing. There's no one thing. This team is generally generally in the 60 or 70th percentile in the league. It will win more games than it loses, but it's not very good.

Notes for next season:
1) Maybe the GM should actually adress the WR position
2) Lamar needs to continue work on the deep ball
3) Everyone on the entire roster should learn to catch uncontested passes
4) Maybe your running backs shouldn't fumble every 4th quarter
5) Maybe your offensive line shouldn't be a penalty machine
6) Maybe your play calls shouldn't be so fucking complicated you're almost always in a delay of game situation
7) Maybe you shouldn't have your entire CB room die like it does every year. Fuller and JAD are done and Peters died in a different way by not receiving from his injury to play well enough.
8) Maybe you shouldn't call a soft ass defense and let 4 teams who are theoretically worse than you beat you by overcoming a 2 score lead in the 4th quarter FOUR TIMES.
9) Maybe your 1st round pass rusher should have any impact of any kind at any point during the entire season.
10) Maybe you shouldn't for the 3rd time hurt Ronnie Stanley because your RT fucks up and gets Lamar blasted into Ronnie.
11) Maybe your defense should EVEN OCCASIONALLY should stop inferior teams from converting 3rd and 4th and longs. Especially in the 4th quarter.

I could go on forever. But this dumbass narrative that oh is this the peak of Lamar's passing? Oh GRo is single handedly ruining Lamar's career etc etc. It's like wtf are you out here watching?

All I see is week in and week out is a cacophony of totally undisciplined football on offense and defense. And despite the fact that the team plays like total shit, we'll below its capabilities, Lamar almost always finds a way to pretty much singlehandedly keep you in or win you the game. I've never seen a player like that.

Dumbass narrative?? This is his 5 yr and still has issues passing the ball.. it is what it is. He hired a qb coach to work on his mechanics and we'll has a made a difference, no, not really. This wasn't a dig at him, more just an honest question.. is this the best we are going to see Lamar in the passing game?

We know his legs will not last forever. He already has slowed down a bit (can be to bulking up) but he still has some elusiveness that will only last so long.

Many wonder how he would truly look with a new OC. So chill bro, this was not a diss Lamar post stop getting defensive. I agree the same issues week in and week out has a lot to do with coaching and of course player execution. Lamar deserves a lot of criticism too though if he connects one of those overthrown passes that's a W. Same can be said about the D.

Also it's just so funny to me how out of touch most people age about ~35 are. Older people who don't "get" technology and social media and who shared a different "youth" from today love to be the generic old person's stereotype of "back in my day we'd never have done something like that". Should Lamar have tweeted it, for his own lessening of a headache later, no. Did he do anything wrong? Of course not. He said something unkind to a troll behind his keyboard. Ultimately people will make such a big deal out of this he's going to be forced to have a press conference to apologize. Then immediately everyone will forget and not care because there will be a new story to tell.

Then you've got the people who are so ultraprimed to investigate everything as a gender or race issue in this country even when it doesn't apply at all is just so tiring. I can guarantee you Lamar didn't say what he did in an antigay way. It's yet again people being out of touch. Everything is about intent. Yet again if anyone had any neuronal plasticity of any kind and considered that maybe peoples Lamar age actually grew up saying stuff like that and it was NEVER meant in an actually antigay way, they'd understand that it's possible in a moment of anger he could've forgotten that now as an adult I shouldn't say that because the world is different when it comes to this topic. You heard it hear first Lamar will apologize and what he'll say is he never had any antigay intent (because he didn't) and that in his anger he used an old phrase that he usually doesn't and understands in retrospect that it could have offended a lot of people which is the last thing he wants.

Finally the media are a bunch of scumb bags and nonanonymous social media is one of the great plagues of society. These people are usually fucking stupid, purposefully provocative and antagonistic, and are always looking for a got you. Social media is a shitstorm of misinformation, agenda pushing, and a depression enforcer in children. It's rules are totally different than that of the real world and we'd really be better of without it.

But ultimately, Lamar didn't actually do anything wrong or have any antigay mal-intent. He'll have a press conference to apologize and appease the self righteous old people, ultra sjws (people who are just looking to cancel people without considering intent. And don't get me wrong this Lamar and the Kanye situation I find pretty different), and the media scum to give them another story to write.

This is a non-issue, but we live in a world where it is.

Agree that, yesterday, there's about a half dozen plays from a half dozen different people that, if gone differently, can easily change the outcome of the game in our favor. Some of its coaching, some of its poor execution by guys not doing their job.
Both have been themes all year.
Exactly. No more complicated than that

A one game suspension would be the best case scenario if it gains traction
Ehh, I doubt it. Public apology from Lamar, probably some PR spin from the Ravens, and donations to some anti-gay charity for conjuring up something that makes no sense.

There's blueprints for this already.

Lol I personally think it is a very stupid question. I'm not trying to be antagonistic but it's the same stuff written in here every week. You can go back through my posts if you want or I can to prove it, but I've been saying for so fucking long in here (literally months) and basically no one will hear it, that this team has been so bad in so many different ways that it's stupid to just look at Lamar Jackson in a vacuum. He doesn't play in a vacuum.

But to answer your question, yes this is the best you will see Lamar Jackson pass in an offense constructed and with injuries like they currently have had for 2 consecutive years. But I find that stupid because it is uncorrelated with what will happen going forward if he has an actually talented group of skill position players and they don't all get hurt for the season. Or if Harbs does move off GRo and we run a different system.

Since 2019 Lamar Jackson has shown you repeatedly that with weapons and with a competent OL he is the single best player in football. In 2021 and 2022 he's had stretches (when his team was healthy SHOCKING) that he was considered in the MVP race. That means MVP and was an MVP candidate the next 2 following years.

It's no more complicated then he's everything you would want him to be (outside of a perfect deep ball, but he's fine at it) but injuries, his team, and coaching have totally let him down.

I'm lost I didn't see anything anti-gay?? What was the comment that is being said to be anti-gay?

And on the back and forth with you guys should Lamar have said those things absolutely not. Is it a big deal the media is making out to be? No, it was a dumb comment in a heated moment. The media will like to make everything about race or lgbtqwxJjfniw plus these days that's what gets attention. He will probably apologize and that's it nothing will happen to him and shouldn't.

Greg Roman is not free of guilt. I think he sometimes makes some really goofy situational calls. I also think he too harshly scripts the beginning of games. I also think he often times fixate on pass or run and can struggle to have a fluid and balanced game. I hate the heavy use of 22 personnel. However, this guy called plays today that if his guys make the ROUTINE plays that a professional football player does, Lamar legitimately throws 5 TD passes and probably sits the 4th quarter. Then we're talking about maybe this offense can still be elite.

Greg Roman is not dropping the passes. Greg Roman is not false starting constantly. Greg Roman isn't the illegal man down field. He may be the source of delay of game penalties though. Greg Roman didn't tell EDC you know you can tell those WRs in FA and the draft they can go fuck themselves. Greg Roman didn't say you know what, today I'm gonna give Rashod Bateman a nice knee capping. The dude has peanuts to work with and Lamar could've had 5 TDs today. He can be imperfect, in fact he is imperfect, but he is not the sole problem. He may not even be a problem at all.

All I can tell you is every single player not named Marlon Humphrey, Broderick Washington, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Tucker were completely and total ass juice today. That's the problem. This team is playing really shitty. They're playing below their talent and capabilities.
The problem is his inability to just pick a frikin play and get it sent in. He over thinks this stuff and its a massive disadvantage to the offense. Lamar has no time to read the defense, Andrews no time to figure out the soft spots, whos the Mike, RBs identifying the Blitzer etc. etc. Instead of settling into the play its a massive scramble just to get it off. Mistakes always follow when you rush

Oh god, Jamison Hensley wrote a short article about Lamar’s tweet on ESPN and noted how Lamar included an “anti-gay” remark. Here we go
lol well Lamar's not white so he will be fine, but better rep the rainbow gear this week just to be safe

Why was Lamar connecting on the deep ball in his 2019 MVP season but not this year?

He really has regressed on these deep throws. I'll say generally he has improved on other types of throws though.

I'm in agreement with you the the team in whole has been shitty and in large part because of the roster construction and injuries. But , I and many others will look at Lamar in a vaccum as you say, why? Because he wants the biggest contract in the NFL. Look we will not have the Ws we we have right now if it wasn't for Lamar. I don't have the false expectation of Lamar being a manning, Brady, Mahomes, insert whatever elite passer you can think of. But he clearly needs to step up his game in passing no denying that and we think the next year after the next he's going to make that step and nope hasn't happened.

Now let me ask you if we get a new OC, healthy wrs, new wrs etc.. and he continues with the same passing issues are you ok with that?

Not an anti gay remark, eating dick just happens to be gay
no way man eating dick is for women as well. Lamar never gendered that man, so tech he was just throwing out a generalized "eat a dick". Its gay of Hensley to assume only gay guys eat dick

You are probably right but those comments would get you fired from many corporations in today's crazy world.
