The 2023 Offseason Thread

And that’s honestly what needs to be done lol. Everyone besides Bate can kick rocks - Duv included
I don't blame you for feeling that way about Duv. I personally think he needs this offseason to get his mind right and confidence back up. If I see no improvement next season, then I'm done for good.

I can't say I blame John. Who from our WR corps scares you? Our WR room is literally "The Replacements" from that old ass movie. I feel we may have signed homeless people off the street to play at one point.

I'll wait.

Maybe this is just a fucking dumb idea but is there any merit to hiring more than one guy this offseason for the offense. Like could it make sense to make someone in house the run game specialist who's job it is to keep Roman ideas alive. But then hire a new OC and maybe a designated pass game specialist too?

Could be a too many cooks in the kitchen thing but it seems to be working for SF

Also I'm not saying he should be fired, and also know there's no chance because he's literally being interviewed for the OC spot lol, but has Tee Martin resoundingly earned a 3rd year here as the WR coach?

He's developed precisely 0 WRs. It may or may not be his fault but idk.

I’m looking at what he was given to work with though. When healthy, Bateman is absolutely incredible. I think he’s done a fantastic job with him. None of the other young guys (Duv, Tylan, Proche, etc) are worth a damn and shouldn’t even be on NFL rosters. They’re all practice squad guys IMO

I think it's hard to develop a WR in that system. Though Duv definitely looked a lot better for a little while.

When they first got here, its like i already knew we wouldnt see any development from wrs that would let us know thst our coaches helped or they even mattered..

Bucs firing all their coaches, and it seems they don't plan on bringing back several key free agents. The rebuild seems to be on... #FreeMikeEvans

Quote from Harbs about the WR room.

"So, I think you're talking about 75% of the offense is intact, and 25% – and it's all in the same room – will be new. The wide receiver room can be built up, and those are pieces we can give Lamar and give him a chance to really thrive."

Maybe it is crazy to actually take these percentages somewhat seriously buuuutttttt if an offense typically has 25 guys, 25% of 25 is ~6 guys. That would mean replacing literally everyone other than Bate lmao

I wouldn’t take it quite that literally lol

Sure at returner…
But I’m not interested in him as anyone I want to see higher than 4th on the depth chart at WR or in certain situations

He’s also gonna be pretty expensive for a returner…

Too many cooks unless it’s something the new OC specifically wants (and they may do)

He’s done pretty great preparing vets etc on short notice who’ve then made impacts - think we should maybe be looking at the talent he had to work with

But also if he’s under threat then I think Dubb would likely just slot in and take over the WR coach spot
