The 2023 Offseason Thread

Just felt like a weird thing to admit. Like, I know he's a guy that appreciates leadership more than X's and O's but to come out and say it like that just felt strange to me.

i get it that when a coach looks to evaluate players the character and coachability is important - but seems weird that he talked nothing about their athletic or skill-based traits

also that the first thing he mentioned about Dave Canales was his faith lol

harbs explicitly mentioning that WR coach and Safeties coach have not been hired yet
may well be guys on staff still but currently in the interview process

obviously no idea what that means for Dubb, if anything at all
Just checked their coaches site:
I didn't know we hired Willie Taggart (former Oregon and FSU HC)
Dubb is still pass game specialist
Tee is listed as qb coach
James Urban is still there but has not any specific job designation
Megan Rosburg (Jerry's daughter) was also hired as an assistant to Harbs

Was reading this also. Found it fascinating.
No wonder Saunders is gone.

Which by the way... its an embarrassing look.

There were only five teams league-wide who got lower than an A- rating for Strength staff. And three of those teams got B's, which means they're at least respectable.
The Falcons and the Ravens were the only teams to get poor grades for strength staff. Everybody else, league wide, is basically great at it.

Strength staff and training staff were the only two categories that basically universally everybody but a small group of teams are great at. And we're one of those teams (for Strength Staff only).

oh wow this is hilariously damning of steve saunders lol...

30 of the 32 teams in the NFL gave their strength coaches fairly positive reviews. Baltimore was one of the two teams that fell well below the rest, and they were even significantly below the second-worst team.

Players do not feel like the strength staff helps them be more successful. The team recently parted ways with Head Strength Coach Steve Saunders, so we will be interested to see if this area improves in his absence.

Only 38% of player respondents felt that they receive an individualized plan for their strength training, and many complained that the training room is understaffed.

on this basis, i cant believe it took this long to move on from him

on the other hand - look at the vikings lol
Vikings, Dolphins, Raiders, Texans. Those look like the cream of the crop.

Bottom of the rung:
Commanders, Cardinals, Chargers/Rams, Chiefs.

Mind blowing to me that the Chargers/Rams have a brand new stadium, and got poor reviews for Training Room and Locker Room. It's one thing to hire poor staff, but poor facilities for a new stadium is pretty terrible.

and didn't that stadium cost like 5m?

I want to challenge that food grade, because I've had that shit and Manny throws it down in the kitchen at the facility.

Well the question is...is the food nutritious? Or is he just awesome at making Pizza and Cheeseburgers?
I mean I'm clearly kidding.

But dude does make some bomb ass food. Even the simple shit like breakfast sandwiches are top notch.
