Lamar Jackson

Baltimore you love Lamar Jackson or you Don't. Quit playing NFL end rounds with the QB you love. End this thing and Pay him his fully Guarantee now. We are sick of it. He is not playing for what you offered and leaked and he is not playing on a Tag. Open up that wallet and fork it over. We are done watching you play pinch penny.

What gives you an impression he doesn't know what he's doing?

He's made at least 65 mil so far. His family is taken care of forever. In all likelihood, he'll make 100 by the end of 2024 and it will be all on his terms. Not the agent's or the 32 fat greedy MFs who are obviously playing a dirty game.

Since high school he's been told to switch positions if he wants to make it. He didn't and one college offer came through. Same with going to pros. For his entire rookie contract he's been asked to do more than any other player in the NFL and he did. Wasn't complaining when D repeatedly blew 2, 3 score leads he made. Wasn't complaining when he gets to throw to Dez Bryant, DJax and washed up Watkins or has to run through the middle when it gets dicey but that's the only way to move the sticks.

Still no real effort to bring in competent receivers but hey, here's 100 mil to middle LB.

He sets the price if they want him to play longer and I wouldn't be surprised if the price is lower for other teams.
lol yeah it doesn't work that way.
For starters, while those are nice big numbers you put out there, its also, quite literally, the MINIMUM amount he could have made during that period of time based on his performance. Like he gets credit for none of it, because it is the absolute floor of what his earning potential was based on how the CBA is structured.
So like yeah, he got the absolute minimum somebody who performs at his level got without an agent. I guess that's an accomplishment?

He can set whatever price he wants. If nobody pays it to him, then he can either start his own football league and pay himself whatever his little heart desires, he lowers his price to be commensurate with what the people he depends on are willing to pay him, or he fucks off and goes home and does nothing.

Those are his options.

Also, are you sure playing two years on the franchise is "his terms"? Pretty sure his terms would be he wants significant more money than $72M over the next two years. The franchise tag isn't terms he sets. They're set for him. If he's happy with it, so be it. Pretty clear he's not, though...

I'll be he does play on the tag. He doesn't have the balls to forfeit $32M. No NFL player does.

No way he plays on a Tag, knowing it risks the injury he's negotiating to insure. And that the Ravens will just Tag him again next year. The Ravens want to pay him for 3 years believing he's a running back and most running backs are done at 30 years old. Raven's are not looking further than 3 years with Lamar. Unless Lamar Jackson gets his Fully Guaranteed, or a marvelous Match by the Ravens, he's not playing for Baltimore this year.

Cool. He can sit then and he makes no $ for 2023. It just delays his FA another year, which means he'll be eligible for FT in 2024 and 2025 now.

Hence why he won't do it.

Pretty clear the Ravens are looking further than 3 years, considering they gave him a 5 (or 6, depending on reports) year deal.

Its also really comical to think a 3 year commitment is a RB commitment, considering 3 years gtd at signing is precisely what all other franchise QBs not named Watson have gotten. Including Josh Allen, Mahomes, etc.

Well mostly because only one person has gotten more gtd years or $, and most people assume that's an outlier at this point.

If Watson's deal wasn't a thing, which a lot of people think it shouldn't be used as a comp for anything, the metrics of his deal basically makes it one of the more lucrative deals in NFL history. Certainly in terms of full guarantees.

I need some luck understanding why Lamar thinks he's deserved more guaranteed $ or more than 3 years fully guaranteed. That one makes no logical sense to me whatsoever.

End of day its the same thing its been for two years now. Lamar thinks Watson is the bar, and nobody else thinks that. And to this point, NFL owners are part of the "nobody else" club. Which is kind of significant, considering they're the one's signing the checks.
So you in the “ he has some nerve” club like the other 95% ok got you

Seems like all of the "guarantees" for Lamar comes with stipulations and that is what he may have issues with. I get it.

Ehh, not really. I think the $133M gtd at signing is low. I think the rest of the contract reported is fairly straight forward. I think Lamar holding out for like maybe another $20M of gtd $ at signing is reasonable. Not sure he'll get it, considering the lack of perceived interest thus far, but I don't think that's totally unreasonable.

I think expecting anything in the gtd at signing range that is north of $200M isn't realistic. I think expecting that just puts Lamar in the same group as the "old white men", which is driven by pure greed.

I think that while this is clearly a polarizing topic, there's an unusually high % of the public that seemingly pretends like only Billionaires can be greedy, or that in a negotiation between two very rich people, only he who is more rich can be the greedy one.

It's literally the textbook definition that both parties, including Lamar, are acting based on "greed".

When it comes to money, fans will turn on you quickly.

Suggs said it earlier before. It's just wired that way for alot of fans. Protect the team not the player.
I think some of it is racial as well. Black people are ride or die no matter what , give the man his bag. Everyone else seems torn , falling between give him 250 mil gtd — he’s a quality top 10 QB—he’s a running back.

It’s annoying , i don’t think Burrow would be treated any different than Lamar. But we’ll find out soon enough

bruh. literally. Are you a Ravens fan? or a bandwagon? Lamar is being greedy. He just wants money, he doesn't care about the Ravens or winning.

Thinking the Colts may be the only team who offers him what he wants and more. They opened up a lot cap to make a big move.

So we get only two 1sts or can we get more out of the trade?
