Nicely done. Alot of us shit on him for no agent, myself included, but he pulled it off well

Yeah just about everyone in the free world thought he should have had an agent. Including myself. The contract he ended up with was very close to what they had offered him in September, according to EDC. So much of the drama would probably have been avoided had an agent been involved. But at the end of the day he got a fair deal, and he didn’t waiver from his position on not hiring an agent. For that I give him big props.
Yeah, glad it got done. Ravens obviously wanted LJ to remain a Raven and were always prepared to make it happen.

For a few reasons I still think it would have been better for the team, and possibly Lamar, if he had an agent. Pretty sure a similar deal would have been done a year or more ago and who knows how last year would have unfolded without the contract crap weighing on him. Yeah, he may have saved some $, but we don’t know what that actually cost him or the team and his team mates.

Honestly joked about this the other day. This fucker getting praised for saving millions in agent fees, and he's gonna piss away a couple million building some shitty ass product ain't nobody gonna buy.

And somebody put a quarter in the merry-go-round...

Believe me Lamar needs an agent. Somebody that would've told him not to listen to the NFLPA. EDC himself said the signed deal was not much different from the original which means to me that the 5 yr 250 mil with 175 guaranteed was the original and was fact. EDC putting the non exclusive and standing strong by him and letting him find out his true worth (not much diffrent from the Ray situation) and then the Eagles paying Hurts is what really pulled this off. I said before this did not have to go down like this cuz that trade request pissed a lot of people off. Me being one and I firmly believe with an agent this would've been a lot cleaner. Getting extra pennies on the dollar was just not worth it. Hel if he had an agent maybe get a gig with Hardees promoting the Big Star Burger or something

The agent would have created a lot of drama if Lamar didn't accept a deal the agent and the Ravens thought was fair. Lamar would've pushed back, and the agent would have been frustrated and left in a huff creating a lot of bad publicity for Lamar. In the end, it worked out well. I don't think an agent would've accomplished anything better than what Lamar seemed to get out of the Ravens. He wore himself out and he definitely wore EDC out with this negotiation.

Yeah I will always believe that it’s better for players to do what they do best. Focus on football, and let a professional take care of the business side. Especially a contract of this magnitude. Worked out for Lamar and I’m happy that it’s done. Time to get ready for a new season.

A lot of drama? Are you serious? You don't believe a lot of drama was going on? Good grief.

Help me understand how 3yr 133 vs 3yr 156 isnt that much different? Idk why people keep saying that bs just to make themselves not look as bad for doubting him.

Like I said, Lamar stayed with it and it worked out for him. Kudos to him for that. But you also need to give the ravens FO and coaches a lot of credit for not wavering in their support for Lamar, and for not giving up on him. There was no other QB they wanted, and there was no other team that Lamar wanted to play for. Getting the deal done was inevitable. Now it’s time to go to work.
NAW, all credit goes to lamar.

Lol.. this. People trying to clean up what they were were saying before by still questioning Lamar. Admit you were wrong and move on. He's signed, Roman's gone amd weapons upgraded. Hoping for a healthy season and another cb or safety.

Over the last 6 months, 2 players without agents signed record breaking deals for a LB and a QB.

How would have agents done better?

He would endorsements beyond low tier gym equipment. He would not have gotten killed in the media thereby harming his public image. Basically the agent would have paid for itself easily.

I don't think Lamar is looking to be out front in the public as much as people think.
He was completely okay with selling the awful gym equipment and having his own clothing line that looks like a first year CS student made the site and an amateur developed the clothes.

If he is okay doing both of those an agent could actually make those ventures profitable.

But why did the media kill him throughout all of this? How was his public image harmed? Was it maybe because Lamar didn’t wanna be part of their tribe and give everyone their cut so they shit on him? Or is it because Lamar actually did something wrong?

One of these fucking days, people will learn that none of that shit matters and what really matters is living by your own principles and being your own person and doing what makes you feel fulfilled. You don’t need to fall in line just to stop outsiders from chirping, you can just ignore the chirping and keep on trucking instead, which is what Lamar did and he’s now better off for it. Fuck the media and the public perception, these mfs don’t know Lamar.

Truth is we’ll never know the answer to that.

But imagine that, both of those players were Ravens, and people were bitching about how cheap they were, crying about “pay the man”. Lol

I for one thought he was unhappy and wanted to leave and I didn't want him playing miserable and on the tag. But when I saw him on the podcast with Ryan Mink he appeared happy, settled and as someone else on here said reborn. That was all I needed to see. A happy Lamar is a motivated Lamar and a very formidable force on the field. I think the Ravens are in a very good place.
