they make the Panthers look like a powerhouseIt is absolutely remarkable how devoid of talent that Patriots team is. Good lord.
Not sure what this stat even means. I think anyone that has watched our games this year can plainly see Lamar's deep ball touch has been off. Hopefully he's been working on it during the bye, we'll need that facet of the game to be clicking in the next few weeks and into the tournament.
this is taking into account all passes with 30+ air yards.
wow, I guess the steelers game had a lot to do with that, chargers game I remember him over throwing obj and zay not getting the ball

we have seen how Purdy has done when he's missing he is missing a couple weapons and his LTTyreek Hill better get MVP before Brock Purdy gets it, he’s not even the 4th best player on their offense, let alone team
Do you believe that?It means he throws a more catchable deep ball than the other guys but the completion percentage is lower.
Now why do we think that is? Lol
the eagles and 9ers have the top two roster, it wasn't a problem with hurts being the mvp frontrunner even though he had a wr that was a mvp candiate, nothing wrong with purdy getting it hes outplayed dak and hurts and beat them bigTyreek Hill better get MVP before Brock Purdy gets it, he’s not even the 4th best player on their offense, let alone team

Lamar does throw a catchable deep ball….. if flash was our wr.. No stat can be created that would convince me that lamar deeps passes have been on the money..It’s not a matter of what I do or don’t believe. The stats are what they are.
The story they tell is that our guys don’t track the ball well and don’t make plays on the ball when it’s catchable.
I don’t see much more for discussion unless you believe the ball needs to be thrown even better than good.
At some point one of these guys are going to have to win one of those balls. In general, they haven’t done a good job. That’s what those numbers mean.
I know you're not Lamar's biggest fan, but your feigning ignorance is astounding at times. Like, there's no other way to interpret these stats by anything other than what they say.Not sure what this stat even means. Oh believe me in the Flacco vs Dalton debates, it’s all about deep ball tracking, Marlon Brown and Tandon Doss suckedI know you're not Lamar's biggest fan, but your feigning ignorance is astounding at times. Like, there's no other way to interpret these stats by anything other than what they say.
Also, as an example I've brought up before-
Look at the deep ball to OBJ in the Chargers game.
Chargers show blitz. Lamar recognizes this and works to get the ball out quick and puts it deep to OBJ. Actually an amazing pass that... fell onto the turf. Damn Lamar deep ball...
Except that if you watch the play, Lamar has that ball out early and in a great spot, but OBJ, who had a free release, didn't get into his release or route quickly. He stutters and tries to get the corner to move his feet before setting into his route. He wastes so much critical time. Had OBJ just sent it and ran, it's a completion (or at the very least, OBJ gets two hands on it.)
Fans like yourself will see "Lamar's deep ball is a bit off," but the objective crowd will see Lamar showed amazing play recognition and threw with anticipation, but OBJ didn't get to his spot with urgency against showed blitz.
Plays like above are why I advocate so heavily for why deep balls are a wide receiver stat as much as a quarterback one. Route running, tracking, hand fighting, boxing/stacking the cornerback are all so critical to a successful deep ball. It's why guys like Mike Williams and Vincent Jackson, despite not being particularly fast, are great deep ball receivers (or were in Jackson's case) and why someone like Duvernay, despite being fast, is not.
And as a really BLATANT example- look at Tua in 2020 and 2021 and the narrative surrounding his noodle arm and look at how well regarded he is for his deep ball in 2023. I wonder if he added one of the best ever deep ball receivers in NFL history between that time?
