Next Up: vs. Texans (Divisional Round)

Lamar has thrown 1 td pass since the chargers playoff game, I expect him to get 4.

No chances Texans can beat us, only we can beat us
I wouldn’t expect a lot of offense with the predicted weather. I’m betting a defensive slug fest that will come down to who establishes the run best

Not really seeing much of an issue with weather. No snow, no rain, just cold. May be a bit on the windy side, but nothing major.
Ah I thought I read Joe above saying 60% of rain. I hope there are no issues, I don’t want sloppy football.

Could see a few games getting out of hand
It’s tough to tell. If the Packers defense can match Loves play , it should be a close one. Big if though vs Kittle and CMC.

I don’t think the Ravens game will be close more than a couple Qtrs. Lions game will be interesting to see if they can keep the momentum or if Goff falls flat. I do think Tampa can keep up offensively. I’m sure the Bills game will be a tight one

I'm against the Pros in certain aspects, but I think both of the Saturday games will eventually be one-sided. I think it may be fairly close in the first half, but I'd expect both Ravens and Niners to end up winning by 14-17 points or so. I honestly have no idea how GB's defense stops SF's offense.

Sunday games I think will be closer, but I could also see Detroit largely handling TB.

You know when Gandalf returns from death and goes to Edoras to save King Theoden and gets confronted by Wormtounge and says I didn’t pass through fire and flame to change words with a witless wonder… That’s the Texans.

We haven’t gone on this years long journey witnessing Lamar’s greatness and hardships just to be on the path to redemption only to be confronted by an overachieving team with a rookie QB.

Edit - to bandy crooked words with a witless worm, my bad

I had not considered a Lord of the Rings analogy, but I would say the Texans only advantage in this game is the fact that all the pressure is on the Ravens. Hopefully this translate to the Texans playing loose and creating big plays to light hope in the hearts of the Shire Folk.

That is for sure an advantage in your favor.

Sorry I basically said Stroud or Demarco Murray is Wormtoungue. He does kill Sauraman in the end…

Lol fantastic LOR reference. I just recently had to go to Qatar(15 hour flight each way) and for some reason I decided to put myself through the Hobbit and LOR trilogy. Great movies , but Holy shit I’m middle earthed out right now. Sorry Texans you shall not pass

I disagree that the pressure is on the Ravens, thats much more of a fan thing. The real pressure is on the Texans 1) going against the most dynamic QB in the NFL 2) trying to keep a rookie QB in the game vs the best defense in the NFL....Stroud has been great, and really approved since week 1, but so have the Ravens. I just dont see how your offense can put pressure on the defense consistently. I think we dictate how Stroud's day goes.

The one thing that worries me is DeMeco Ryans and Matt Burke. Both great defensive minds. We need Monken to match their creativity.

Film junkies… is this something you can confirm and is a tell our defense can use? Or too subtle and just the normal advantage some tackles use against dominant edge rushers?

It seems #78 Laremy Tunsil is good for at least one false start per game. It has become a continuing punch-line down here in Houston. I think it's more of him trying to gain a slight advantage against the edge rush. He faced Myles Garrett last week and Garrett never touched Stroud. We are hoping he can continue that success against the Raven's D.

lol there's pretty much no pressure on the Texans at a macro level. They've already achieved more than anybody thought they could, and they're supposed to get blown out in this game. If they lose 50-10 on Saturday, their season is a gigantic success.

If the Ravens lose, Lamar is basically a better regular season version of Dak Prescott. Whether people think that's true or not is kind of irrelevant. He'll be a high quality regular season QB who wins a lot of games, and then loses most, if not all, of his playoff games. There will be no possible argument or explanation that doesn't lead back to that.

Ravens are pretty much in the same spot as the Cowboys... there's no justification to lose this game. The season is almost entirely defined as an abject disaster with a loss on Saturday (unless that loss involves like Lamar being injured early).
You can lose in the AFCG to Josh Allen or Pat Mahomes. That most people will tolerate. You can't lose at home to a rookie QB in your first playoff game.

That's called pressure. It's up to the Ravens to rise to the pressure.

garrett literally got called for offsides on a play where tunsil false started...
only way to get an edge with this is if the ravens point it out to the officials beforehand
