GMs don’t draft in hindsight. It just doesn’t work that way. Even Yanda was drafted in the 3rd round. You would have had to been crazy to give up two first rounders for Yanda at that point.

Quenton nelson is the most pro ready all pro in first year guard. He is the julio jones of offensive linesman.
do it ozzie..

Sorry buddy, Humphrey is going to be a very good corner in this league for a long time. This isn't elam or perriman. Infact he might end up being better than jimmy. I like what i've seen from him then what i saw from jimmy in his early years. He's also one of the youngest rookies this year. I think he's the youngest corner to be drafted in the first 2 rounds.
I agree. I mean Jimmy was getting absolutely schooled in his rookie season - when he was put out there (of course, he missed significant time due to an early season injury). I remember SD killing us one game and VJax was just having his way with him.

We all do have to be careful not to anoint guys after such a small sample size, but what we're seeing from Humph is super encouraging. It sure seems like he's going to be a player in this league and has a real shot at qualifying as a true "playmaker"

I'd do anything to convince this FO to take the plunge and trade up for quenton nelson. This is a HOF potential guard. He's worth it. We can pound the ball down the left and even if the other team knnows its coming..can you imagine having Nelson and Yanda for collins to go behind with ricard?
Even better... Nelson-Jensen-yanda. Fuck me that interior is flat out silly, Stanley has surprisingly been an elite run blocker and has done better here than pass pro, and with that lineup we can even get away with Austin Howard at RT since he is such a mauler. Stanley-Nelson-Jensen-yanda-Howard has got to be the best run blocking unit in the league bar none, that's 4 elite run blockers, 3 elite pass protectors, and one far above average run blocking RT who has average pass pro.

We're averaging 150 RYPG against 8 man boxes with that unit and Alex Collins

Boy what i'd do to get the FO around a desk and convince them that nelson is a game changer for this team.

this FO have a different way of workng though, they have always preffered quantity over quality

not sure if you guys just caught the presser that harbaugh had just now but i've never seen him this disgruntled sounding EVER in the last 3 pressers including this one. Usually he gets better with everyone after a few days but something is up. I think the FO have let him know something that we're not aware of.

OR he is really pissed at how badly that game was blown and that a seeming lackof effort by some, players was part of the problem.

Just saying i've never seen him so pissed off and anti-discussion in 3 back to back conferences.

Maybe he's pissed off at how this season has went? Starters on IR and retiring, the coordinators he vouched for are about as sharp as marbles, best player on each side of the ball goes on IR, and all this shit adds up to us losing a high stakes game we almost beat the odds to win. Probably pissed about his big FA WR acting like Eugene Monroe out there

I think he's worried about a lot of things, including his future.

He could be but I can't see Steve telling him he's fired if we don't make it. Steve wants to win and that's a distraction and pressure, obviously we don't do well with pressure as you can see from our playcalling late in the game...

Honestly, this is a very favorable schedule. I won’t speculate so I doubt anything was said but dude, if we drop two of these next three then I’m pretty sure someone is getting fired.

clearly the FO had words with him after the game. You can feel the pressure and frustration getting to him. Very angry tone at press conferences since the game.

I hope they did have a word or two. He keeps letting coordinators calling stupid game when everything is on the line. 4th quarter was a display of incompetent coaching.
