Joe Flacco

The first half, yes. Obviously that back injury was worse than we all thought. However f we are going to blame him for not making the playoffs, we also have to give him props for getting us in position to be as close as we were.
What's incredibly frustrating for me is that Flacco looked excellent in the second half. Ball came out great and he delivered accurate, on point passes. If he played like that in the first half, the Ravens run away with the game.

Exactly.
That game yesterday looked like our entire season put in 60 minutes.

And that's not to say he was the only slow starter (drops in the first half were killer; run defense was atrocious), but as you said, the season in a nutshell. Starts out abysmal to start the season and heats up for a four game stretch before fading out. Started out really poorly to start the game and then played January Joe football up to that last drive.

View attachment 435 It must be hard being an nfl players people are trying to make something of his comments about mayfield when he clearly states he wouldn’t start right away he’s just saying he likes him

i like those comments - i like that he's engaging, i like that he's encouraging us to draft offence and i like that all 3 are potentially reasonable picks at 16 and only 1 of them went to school with him

man marlon humphrey is a really cool guy

Yeah I really like it too sucks that more players don’t do that and with the people attacking him that’s probably why

I think it's time we recognize Flacco to be who he is. To quote Maya Angelou "When someone shows you who they are, believe them"! He has repeatedly shown us he is an average at best QB so we need to believe him.

lol smh that guy thought Marlon liking mayfield was a shot at Joe. Did he not read the rest of the tweet.

I think it's time we recognize that Joe Flacco will never reach his full potential without having at least a couple of consistently dependable pass catchers on the team. To quote Louisa May Alcott, "It takes two flints to make a fire".

All this talk about knowing who Joe really is. Seriously, shouldn't the team know? I mean it has been 10 years! No matter how good you think he is or isn't, the Ravens should have provided him with everything he needed to succeed. He was huge investment. And they did not. It is sad really.

Just watched highlights of the mile high game. God i miss that passing game. Boldin pitta underneath, smith and jones deep.

We lose that game with these receivers

Let's be very clear. This is the first time Flacco has ever stacked good games in the regular season. @arnie_uk Flacco still missed open guys and Torrey easily should have gone for 3-4 tds if the ball is thrown better. People wonder why the team isn't built around Flacco, but when has he shown the consistency to really invest? With that said, the goal should be building the best roster possible which would included weapons on offense. It seems like they've tried and failed. It's actually becoming comical.

We never play that game with current WRs

What I'm curious about is whether Joe is the type of quarterback who can help develop young receivers. We didn't draft many of them early to be able to tell for sure but as an example(s), Torrey remained what he was in college and Perriman regressed.
I bet M. Thomas never becomes the player he is with Brees, not even close. Heck, Brees turned even Coleman into competent pass catcher who can run few routes.
Would really like to see how Joe does with young elite wideout for a change. That would help answering the question.

Time to recognize? With all due respect Tank, anyone who hasn't recognized this yet is clearly lost. One of these pass-catchers MUST be a TE because Maxx and Boyle aren't doing enough tbh. They're just.......slow lol.

Same exact reason why i like baker. He is just competitive as shit and wanna be great.

Besides being competitive he has traits that are hard to come by from college qbs, such as using his eyes to move defenders while going through all his reads. He’s a film junky. He wants to know everything about the team he is about to face.
Barring something crazy between now and the draft, I don't think he makes it to us tbh.

plus the fact that he is a little cocky lol
