I swear you all hated Torrey when he was here. Was a much different vibe.
Torrey was hardly perfect and far from a #1 WR.. Hell let's be real, he wasn't the most reliable guy hands wise. He had a tendency to dissapear for games. Wallace and him are of little difference.

We don't need another Torrey Smith right now. He was a fine deep threat but I've always maintained that stance. Just get me someone who can CATCH THE FUCKING BALL

I felt the majority of posters basically said Torrey wasn't shit, to make this simple. And I don't mean that literally, but the consensus seemed to be the Ravens don't need him and he can easily be replaced.
Here's the thing: they weren't wrong. Wallace is essentially the same fucking player, and I'd argue that Wallace has more of a rapport with Joe than Torrey ever did(I mean if you seriously don't remember.. They did NOT have chemsitry).

Chris Moore is likely going to be a guy who's like a Torrey Smith. His only role is "run really fast, in a straight line, beat defenders, command safety attention, occasionally get DPI calls, and continue to be a body catcher at the worst possible moment.

The fact that Torrey is the best WR Ozzie has ever drafted is actually a demerit. Now, I still think he's bound to hit one eventually and want us to address it during the draft as well as during FA.. But Torrey was just a deep threat.. A good one, but not a #1 guy. Wallace more or less is the same player

Not denying any of this. Actually, agree with it, but that wasn't my initial point. Don't mind me.

I think what many “hated” was the thought of paying him $8 mil. a year to be a #2/#3 WR. Me personally, I criticized him hard for a few really bone headed plays, but still love Torrey and what he brings. For one he’s a Terp and he’s also a stand up, classy guy. Looking at where we are now I would guess few would would critcize signing him for the deal he got in Philly.

The fact that he’s the #4 pass catcher behind Alshon, Ertz, and Agholor on the Eagles speaks volumes.

I wish Breshad Perriman was at least as productive as Torrey Smith was for us. Right now he's up there with Marcus Smith's productivity.

What's this have to do with Flacco, BTW?

Because it's ALL of Flacco's fault. You hear me? ALL!

Being somewhat sarcastic of course.

I think a lot of us (myself included) are putting some of Flacco’s shitty season on the WR play around him. Flacco undoubtedly holds his weight in blame but still. Then people do what they always do “we’ve never drafted Flacco a #1 WR” stuff like that. Some say Torrey is but he wasn’t.

Flacco has to get better but until some upgrades are made around him this team isn’t going anywhere

JoeJoe is a High Maintenance QB. He needs a lot more than a top WR. Lets put it this way...

There's nothing wrong with homely women. Most are very nice with hearts of gold. But blue eye shadow alone is not gonna be enough to raise their appearance game. There's women with outstanding character out there that are gonna need dermabrasion, foundation, toner, mascara, great choice in lipstick, skin conditioner. A cosmetician, the whole shebang.

Blue eye shadow alone will make that woman look like a spook. JoeJoe needs a helluva lot more than a good WR which alone will make him look like a spook.

Your knowledge of women's cosmetics is... intriguing.

i dont think your statements there are mutually exclusive - i love torrey and wish we could have kept him but i also didnt think he was worth anywhere near the money he got (as demo'ed by how he didnt finish his deal in San Francisco)

the ravens would have liked to have him but they didnt need him and he was easily replaced by wallace...

Honestly that was probably RayRays most logical post ever. I don’t have a problem with it. It’s life. But then again I’m not as sensitive or as easily triggered as my millennial counterparts.

I liked Torrey and thought he got some unnecessary heat at times and others well deserved. I agree. I never said we should have given him San Fran money. I would also like to take this moment to say I never liked the Maclin deal and only accepted it because it meant we weren't getting Decker. Hindsight yada yada but I haven't liked many deals we've done "recently" on offense.
