2018 Free Agency

These reports have me so damn anxious. I've warmed up to the Landry idea, but not entirely. I hate he contract baggage he would bring, and would prefer a cheaper and more well rounded option like sanders, and I like Richardson a little bit, if he doesn't break the bank then I think he could be a better option when you consider what we could also find in this draft.

But regardless, this wait is killing me. If we sign Landry I'll crack a beer to celebrate a change in ravens tradition to make the offseason more exciting, and think long and hard about ordering a Landry jersey, but ultimately back out because I'm cheap

Something I struggle with is if we get a combination of two FA WR's for a total of $14M between the two of them, there's no guarantee that'd be better than having Landry at say $12M/year over the life of a contract (and a draft pick) along with a high upside rookie at $2M/year. I really like the idea of Sanders along with another FA WR but I also really like Landry.

Landry alone won't be enough. We'll need another veteran and a rookie in at least 2nd round.

I’m with you. Part of me doesn’t want Landry because of the associated cost, but another part of me realizes it’s kind of unprecedented to be in on a guy of his talent level. Excited but not excited at the same time.

You two are, as most of us, long time sufferers of the Ravens way when it comes to wide receivers.
We all want good ones but since we cannot draft and/or coach them up, we must pay. They don't come cheap.

the thing that makes me balk - is that its not only that we will likely have to overpay significantly for him - it's also that there's the double cost of also likely having to give up "significant" draft capital too...

Would you rather spend that pick on another Perriman and come out of it with a bargain or give it for already formed and really good receiver? Of course you'd have to pay. I don't understand "overpaid" argument - the price is what it is. You can't find better at this moment and we're literally desperate.

Not as high as projections I was seeing earlier today. Also since we are low on the cap, it means less space for us to sign guys than we would have had otherwise
Shit. That sucks. But like I always say, if Ozzie really wants someone, he'll make it work.
