2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

Carnell Tate really creates huge windows to throw downfield, he separates so much on vertical routes and he does it so often.

I’m struggling to understand any negative talk about this guy, he’s the classic X prototype physically and he is an elite route runner, he isn’t a slant or screen guy on tape, but he’s such a savvy, skilled, and high iq route runner on the route tree OSU drew up for him that I have a really hard time believing he couldn’t run every route at a very high level. Plus elite hands and body control, he separates incredibly well but also makes the tough catches in coverage, through contact, and on not perfectly placed passes.

Probably dreaming of the day the Jets fire him. Maybe he can win a Superbowl outside of New York like Darnold did!

he's got 2 definitely elite qualities:
his route stems
his hands at the catch-point

2 skills that definitely translate

Haven't done a ton of work on him specifically but as I've been watching some Indiana players... I'm not sure I love Mendoza. Think he's absolutely worth the 1st pick, especially in a QB class like this one. But also just don't see him being some sure thing. Plenty of talent but I'm not convinced he's some sure fire star. Could easily see him becoming Sam Bradford or Baker Mayfield-ish as far as impact goes.

Luckily for the Raiders, those types of QBs, including Mendoza, would fit well in the Kubiak offense. I think they are finally putting together a decent looking team. On offense, fix that OL and add a couple receivers and theyre onto something. They just need to practice patience for the first time in a long time.

Being from central California, I am not looking forward to the Raiders being competitive (if they get there). A lot of their fans are obnoxious and don’t know how to handle winning lol

Yeah I mean, don't get me wrong. I think he's going to be good. Just not sure he's going to be great.

Agreed, he’s probably not going to be a star. But good may be all that is needed. Sam Darnold just won a Super Bowl by being “good.” If Mendoza gets the Raiders out of playing musical chairs with bad QBs and competitive, then I think he would be worth the pick.

Tyson was hurt every year of his 4yr college career.. yea cross him off. Then again dobbs never been hurt till he got to the nfl

EDC loves taking chances on injury-prone / players coming off Injury prospects. He thinks he’s getting a bargain. Watch this dude draft Tyson.

idk that i have any #SIIE candidates other than Reuben Bain Jr right now

but any of these guys would be slam-dunks at 14:
Reuben Bain Jr
Sonny Styles
Jermod McCoy
Jordyn Tyson
Carnell Tate
Jeremiyah Love

carnell tate probably the only 1 of those guys with zero chance of making it to our pick

that's 6 of my top 8 players (along with Arvell Reese and Caleb Downs) and every time i go to re-stack the top of my board it feels horrible putting any of them outside the top 5 but i have to lol
