Update: Welcome to B-More, Jeremy Maclin!

What changed to make us drop 3 games. Pitta the YAC master?
The fact that our oline has somehow gotten worse.

Zuttah wasn't great to begin with. We trade him away for pennies on the dollar that amounts to a special teams DB, and have jack shit to replace him. Siragusa might play there, but he's never played center before and that scares me.

We draft a guard I really like and yet will probably keep him on the bench in favor of misusing Alex Lewis again, who wasn't that great at guard last year

James Hurst is our starting RT at the moment. Nembot(who's tape sucked. And you know it's bad when I say a fellow Colorado buffalo sucks) and Wesley? Who's shown nothing, are his competition. Need I say more?

Unless we hit on every single player we are relying on, our offensive line is going to consist of Ronnie Stanley, Marshal Yanda, a misused Alex lewis, and jack shit.

Flacco is going to die

When did you predict 10-6? I wont deny our OL is what im worried about most, but....its June.

Absolutely crazy to think we got worse from last year while our defense on paper looks a lot better. That or you're drinking the Sami kool aid.
Our oline looks to be in worse shape. There might actually be a few games where the defense does its job and we go 3 and out several times. And then ravensdfan will blame dean pees even though the opposing team only scored 12 points

On the other forum lol.

I know it's early. But we STILL haven't done much to help the line other than draft Nico. And I really like Nico. But that puts us to 3 capable men out of 5(if Lewis actually doesn't fit well at RT). I'd feel a lot more confident if we play Lewis at RT and started Nico tbh

For the years ive seen you posting, have you ever made an actual positive post? If only we would have traded for Julio and Joe Thomas, signed Lynch and went and got Bill Parcels, but damn, stuck here......

This is what you remind me of...Wonder who gets the reference

Yup. 2014. Loved our O line. Said SSR would change our offense.
Was right. We were a healthy jimmy smith away from beating the patriots.

We cannot have a bad offensive line. A bad offensive line = no playoffs.
It's as simple as that.

To steer this back on topic though. I'd obviously prefer Maclin to be here if we could. Maclin provides another proven option.

In order for 2017 to be successful most of the following unproven players are going to have to pan out

Breshad Perriman
Maxx Williams
Crockett Gillmore will have to stay healthy
Nick boyle will have to stop getting into trouble
Chris Moore
Michael acampanado
Lorenzo taliefero(at FB. Which as a receiving option is something I like tbh)
Nico Siragusa
Alex Lewis
Ryan Jensen
John Urschel

That's a ridiculous amount to ask for. And not all of them are likely to pan out. I expect the following to actually work out

Perriman
Maxx
Boyle
Siragusa
Lewis(if we play him at tackle)

Well i agree about the OL, but to say that we havent done much in the off-season compared to other teams i just see as false. I also agree if we had Jimmy we would of stomped the Patriots.

I'm not sold on lewis as a tackle. His foot speed isn't good enough.
the ceiling of the players you mentioned is a crapshoot and most of them are likley at best ''ok'' nothing great.
We havent had a top 5 player in an offensive and defensive skill position in how long?

What's going on with the front office? At least lie to us and say we have interest in Maclin. You seriously cannot be content going into the season with Moore or Campanaro as the number 3. One can't catch a cold and the other is too injury prone. If the WR depth chart stays the same, our offense is going to be God awful. Maclin is the kind of reliable guy that Flacco needs. This is so damn frustrating.

Why would they tell us that they're interested in him?

To make us think they're not content with rolling out a dud at the slot position lol

''Hi JAAM, this is John Harbaugh, we believe in Chris Moore. Chris Moore is a heck of a football player, he's only going to get better. Plus, we have Joe, who's going to make it easier for all of our WR's. Wouldn't want any other QB in football other than Joe. All the Credit to our scouting department for finding another WR gem who plays like a Raven, which means, sure, he'll drop some balls, have average routes and so forth BUT he's fast AND have you seen him on special teams? I had an orgasm watching him on special teams last year"!

''We're going to be good! We just have to go out and execute''.

in 4 and a half months time

Mike Preston in post-match press conf: '' John, the team is 0-6, where has it gone wrong, and with the playoffs unlikely, how do you motivate this team going forward? ''

Harbs '' Fundamentals, we've been right there. Just need to finish critical plays. We need to stop being in 3rd and long situations. Penalties, really just basic stuff that needs to be cleared up. We WILL clear it up and we still have a chance, who says we can't win the next 10 games? We've got the hearts of lions, we have faith in the good lord all mighty''...

Late December

Harbs '' Hi everyone, obviously it was a disappointing season which fell short of what this organization prides itself on. I felt at the end of the season we were getting better and I saw some progress which we'll take into next year. I need to be better, we all do...
Questions?...

Jimmy now
Webb before the injury
Weddle and Jefferson now

Basically the secondary has had plenty but the offense has not.

basically, weddle and jefferson who are not home grown.

So where is all this cap going to? How do we have the 3rd least cap in the NFL? We have no dead money..
Other teams have QB's with huge contracts
why do the bengals have plenty of cap this year and next?
Why do teams with a lot more talent than us have way more cap than us?

First yes weddle and Jefferson as well as Jimmy who was homegrown (sorry the numbers back him up being top 5).

Also for your question, while players like Jinmy/weddle/Jefferson are taking some of this years cap (and Wallace has an 8m hit this year) a lpt of the Ravens cap is smartly tied up in the trenches with players like Yanda/Suggs/BWill.

I know you asked about skill positions on offense but how has having AJ Green hekped the Bengals in January, or how much better was Detroit in January with Calvin Johnson?

Having those elite playmakers feels good but the recipe to win has never changed. Top priority is having a QB because you cant win witgout those, then a defense and then an Oline which is preferably strong in the interior. Everything else falls under the category of nice but not needed.

Edit: I would add that the Ravens have also been bit by 3 bad contracts in Pitta, Rice, and Monroe which definitely set the Ravens back.

Now this was too funny but accurate to me @Sami84. And cats hate on Preston but I love listening to that dude cause he doesn't just drink the purple kool-aid and he's not a go along to get along type of analyst when it comes to the Ravens.

I Have always been one to think the "skill positions" are overrated. As you eluded to, green and Megatron didn't help put there teams over the hump and Julio may be the best wr, that trade in my opinion set them back big, they've had two good years?

In 12' when we won, I wouldn't say we had great skill players outside of Rice, easily a top 5rb then. We just had guys who stepped up when we needed. Worked out well.

It is frustrating when we have zero cap year in and year out, but if we did have cap I wouldn't want us paying these over valued WRs, would rather build the trenches. But that's me.

Edit: when I say we didn't have great skill players during our SB run, I merely mean compared to the rest of the league. We didn't have a 1k yard wr or a double digit Td guy. Outside of Rice we didn't have a top skill player, but I would throw in Jacoby on ST.

I totally agree. I say it this way. Build the cheese and sauce first before you put the toppings on.

Not to mention our starting running back is still Terrance West. People say it will be better, but I see no tangible reason running the ball this year will be better than last year.
Actually. West isn't bad. He's not gonna be a star, but with a bad oline last year he ran pretty well. The RBs aren't the issue at the moment.

We have to hope at this point that Harbaugh does the right thing and start Siragusa at LG and Jensen at C.
